My FiST is coming up on 10,000 miles. I have actually been changing the oil and filter at 2,500 intervals (2,500 -- I did the change at home, 5,000 miles the dealer did it, 7,500 I did it at home and now at 10,000 I will have the dealer do it. Looking at the owner's manual for the Fiesta, (not the ST supplemental manual), shows the following work for the 10,000 mile interval:
- Change engine oil and filter.**
- Rotate the tires.
- Perform a multi-point inspection (recommended).
- Inspect the automatic transmission fluid level. Consult your dealer for requirements.
- Inspect the brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, brake linings, hoses and parking brake.
- Inspect the cabin air filter.
- Inspect the engine cooling system strength and hoses.
- Inspect the exhaust system and heat shields.
- Inspect the half-shaft boots.
- Inspect the steering linkage, ball joints, suspension, tire-rod ends, driveshaft and U- joints. Lubricate any areas with grease fittings.
- Inspect the tires, tire wear and measure the tread depth; and
- Inspect the wheels and related components for abnormal noise, wear, looseness or drag.
My question is this: I have the Mountune MP215 kit installed which comes with the reusable Green Filter panel filter. The manual says the engine air filkter need not be changed until 30,000 miles. I assume this applies to the Green Filter or should it be cleaned/reoiled sooner? I don't drive off road or in really dusty conditions and use is fairly typical (highway/local road driving, no track days or autocross). Thanks for your feedback.
