I just signed up for my first Nationals. So let's start talking about it!
Who's going?
How are you preparing?
How many Hawaiian shirts are you bringing?
First off, the registration page asked if I wanted to be called a rookie. I've been autocrossing since 1992, and I've done some divisionals and a Pro. It didn't feel right to call myself a rookie, so I said "no".
I bought the commemorative jacket at registration, because I'm a sucker, and because I'm hoping the design will be cool. And because I happen to need one anyway come Fall.
G-Street class runs on Thursday/Friday.
It will be 2 days to drive the 20 hours from Washington DC. I haven't booked a hotel but my gf is coming with, so it'll have to be a halfway decent room. Holiday inn express would suffice.
"Are you a race car driver?"
"No, but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night!"
