Just curious if anyone has used the do it yourself stuff from 3M. I definitely want to do something to prevent the same ill fates my Mustang went through on its front end. The pricing isn't bad, unless you want to cover multiple areas of the car.
If you're talking about the spray on stuff, then yes, i tried it. It is tricky to get it applied at the right thickness. Too thin and it doesn't peel off well. Too thick and it will run. It does work though once you get it applied. i did the entire front end with 3 cans.
That's the stuff. I really like the idea of it. I was humoring the idea of doing the entire car. Realistically? the same as you. Maybe even do the sides
Sounds like this would be good for those people who have a paint color that chips easily. I have the Performance Blue, but the car isn't clean often enough for me to tell how bad mine might be.
I just tend to have bad luck with these things. I was also thinking about getting a real detail done by a pro and looking at getting one of the "clear bras" they offer. I'm sure it'll be more $$$.
