I just got my v3 AP and saw that the factory ECU is backed up to the computer, but being the paranoid person I am I wanted to make an off-site backup in case my computer borks for some reason. I found the ECU backups at this path:

C:\Users\<YourWindowsUsername>\AppData\Local\APManager\backup

I took the files from there, zipped them and emailed them to myself through gmail, so now I have a copy forever! I haven't installed the OS X AP, so I'm not sure where they are stored on a Mac.

The stock ECU ROM (as far as I know) isn't available out of the box. When you first install the AP, it copies the ECU to the AP. When you connect the AP to your PC, it transfers a copy of the ROM to your PC. In the event that your AP was stolen and your hard drive crashed, you would be unable to re-flash your factory ROM without someone else supplying it.
