I took a short trip this last weekend to visit my sister near Palm Springs and passed by the Salton Sea on the way. I don't have the navigation option in my base ST, but as most of you know, all STs come with the GPS hardware regardless of whether or not they have the optional maps.

Anyhow, I got curious to see how close the Fiesta GPS was when compared to my handheld Garmin and was surprised to discover that the Fiesta did not show any elevation below sea level! What should have read -170 ft. just read 000. So I was wondering if this discrepancy also holds true if the navigation option is installed. Has anyone else noticed this inability to read below sea level?

On the bright side, my neighbor tells me that the Salton Sea fishing is great!

Regarding the zero's for minus elevation, that's pretty disappointing. Pay a thousand dollars for GPS and then it won't display elevation correctly? Maybe you should complain to Ford about it. I'd do it myself, but since I didn't pay for the navigation package they'd probably just tell me to stuff it. There's a Ford representitave who hangs out in the named "FordIVTteam" who hangs out in the Fiesta ST Interior Upgrades.

I hear she's pretty great. ;)

I'd never tell you that, reddog99. I would, however, recommend posting any new ideas/suggestions here: http://social.ford.com/your-ideas/ since our product development team checks this site for inspiration and insight from owners.

Kim, thanks for putting a word in.
I would like to point out that accurate elevation readings from a GPS are an expected normal feature, and should not be one that we are required to beg for.
