I'm interested to see what times people are running at streets of willow and with what mods. I currently have a Mazdaspeed Miata and am thinking of getting a FiST but was wondering what actual times they put down on a track I am familiar with. I ran a 1:34 my first time out to SOW CCW and aiming to break into the 1:20's next time out but since I have sorted my brakes and upped my power to about 280 whp. I wanted to see what people where clocking with the Fiesta with what level of modifications. I don't expect it to be as fast as my car but I need more seats so I am willing to compromise a little track speed for more usability every day.

Thanks!

I ran a 1:32 CW and CCW -- I know, CCW is "faster"! I was having some weird suspension issues sorting out my coilovers. The CCW day was exceedingly hot. We saw 102 deg F.

In the CW run, my FiST was far less modified, and I think the car is at least a few seconds faster.

Once my car is back out of the shop, I'm hoping it's considerably faster! If for no other reason, I'll have confidence to push things with my cage.

Thanks, but I don't feel that fast yet. It's probably not even that impressive when you compare it to a very well driven stock FiST. I know what Randy Pobst does there, so I feel in the ballpark! :)

Anyhow, I'm still struggling to drive the FiST more smoothly. I'm aggressive, and can tell the car doesn't like it much. I am learning to drive FWD fast again (coming from lots of AWD/RWD).

If you want to feel fast, drive Horse Thief Mile! I love that little track. It's the only place I don't feel vastly overpowered when racing superior machinery. There's an old thread with links to videos. I can't wait to get back over there to see how the car runs after the latest mods.

I've ran it both ways... hard to say what I prefer....... Turn 1 CW got me once in the first session of the day, that was pretty silly. I also didn't care for Turn 9/10 when someone dumped oil in that area... it's sketchy in the first place.

CCW I don't like how hard it is on your brakes for the first left hander after the front straight. Otherwise I enjoy CCW.

So if I had to pick, I guess it would be CCW is my favorite at the moment.

haha ya, the bowl ccw is weird.

I did the track day with extreme speed about two years ago that had half the sessions in the dark.... it was AWESOME!
Hrmm, I was doing it wrong. :)

I really wanted it to be awesome, but the whole thing didn't gel with me. I was co-driving with a good friend that is a fantastic driver (and owner of a very fast, Time Attack winning 350Z that makes around 800HP). Anyhow, he more or less saw it the way I did. I think my car needs big powerful lights! Since I don't plan to drive that way very much, it's waaay down the list!

All of my recent stuff is with Extreme Speed. I still have about 50 track days left on my monster pre-paid deal. :)
