I am just wondering if anyone did the H11 to H9 headlight modification? I have done this mod in the past on other cars with very good results (much brighter headlights for short $$$). I would be interesting to hear of folks experiences if it has been done.

I did it, and well... it's much brighter (duh...). The only concern is 10w extra draw. Shouldn't be too much of a problem, but no long term results here. Still finishing off the stock H11's (gonna be a while). Tips: use a 1/4 chisel for the plastic tab inside. Then have a pair of cutters you are willing to dull, and "crimp"/pinch the excess tab then wiggle it off. Tin snips are a bit too thick to cut the tab correctly. Oh and tear the box it came in so that the connector and only the connector is exposed. Less chance of touching the bulb.

I have done it on other cars as well. I want to know if anyone has done it on the Fiesta ST. some cars have issues with heat. On the fiesta ST there is that center section that hides the bulb. i want to make sure that does not discolor if the bulbs are upgraded.

I've had mine on for about 2 weeks. I didn't notice any melting from the H9's, my led's though... melted a little into the back of the reflector when I stuffed everything inside.
Interesting to hear on the LEDs melting the back of the reflector. What brand are you using? We've currently on our 2nd LED bulb going out though I think it's the box this time rather than the bulb unit itself like the first one.
