that makes lots of sense right there but it does defeate the purpose of keyless start
that makes lots of sense right there but it does defeate the purpose of keyless startCorrect me if I'm wrong, but isn't the solution to that as simple as taking the key out of your pocket when you enter the car?
Haha, just like every other car prior to keyless ignition. Chuck it in the cupholders. You're not wrong, but that defeats part of the purpose of the keyfob. It should be able to stay in my pocket the entire time. Especially during winter, when I'm wearing gloves. If I have to reach into my pocket to get the keyfob out, I risk unknowingly grabbing out change or my other keys, which could then drop into the snow, or between the seat/armrest. Not cool.
oh my that is dumber than my 2011 Mustang GT where you turn the key and it turns the engine over till it starts... regardless if it starts or not let go of key and engine keeps cranking till it fires... never had a issue but I could see this killing the battery or overheating the starter motor.. I just leave my FOB in the lunch pail I take to work so I never noticed the beep beepI get what you all are saying. Just figured if it annoyed you enough it would be a simple workaround
I also own an s2000, talk about pointless keyless start. (turn key, press start)
A lot of new cars are like that. The timeout should be set that it isn't so long that it'd hurt anything if it won't start. I've seen them get screwed up before and continue to attempt to crank after the engine is already running all the way up until timeout. What an awesome 'feature'.oh my that is dumber than my 2011 Mustang GT where you turn the key and it turns the engine over till it starts... regardless if it starts or not let go of key and engine keeps cranking till it fires... never had a issue but I could see this killing the battery or overheating the starter motor.. Ya that was always my fear hearing the starter gear eating the flywheel teeth .... lolA lot of new cars are like that. Euro spec ftw!that makes lots of sense right there but it does defeate the purpose of keyless start
I don't have the Nav system n mine.Mine doesn't either. I have the Nav system, does it have something to do with that?
Back to the topic: There's really nothing that I miss. I thought I would miss Applink, but the way MFT handles resume via Bluetooth and the ability to have both my phones connected at the same time is actually better. I love this car!
While the keyfob is on your person? Or do you leave that in the vehicle?Mine doesn't honk when I get out/leave the car and leave it running.
Always in my pocketWhile the keyfob is on your person? Or do you leave that in the vehicle?
Maybe I'm not walkin far enough away? I'll give it a try today.Always in my pocket
No, mine goes off as soon as I exit the vehicle and close the door. When I'm brushing snow off of my windows. It's very close proximity to the vehicle. Odd that some do it and some don't. I'd like to turn it off if I can.Maybe I'm not walkin far enough away? I'll give it a try today.
