Approaching 5,000 miles . . . what service needs to be done?

I have been taking the approach of changing my own oil at 2,500 or 3,000 mile intervals and then having the dealer change the oil at their recommended 5,000 interval. So I changed the oil and filter myself at 2,500 miles, I will have the dealer change the oil at 5,000 miles, I will change the oil at 7,500 miles, etc.

My car's next service interval will be at 5,000 miles and in addition to the oil and filter change I am wondering what else needs to be done at this mileage. The Fiesta owner's manual does not seem to recommened any dealer scheduled maintenance until 10,000 miles (multi-point inspection, oil change, cabin filter, half shaft boots, etc) as opposed to owner visual checks every one to six months such as checking tires for wear, windshield washer fluid levels, lights functioning etc.

Also, I have been using the Motorcraft 5w-20 Synthetic Blend for oil changes but will change to the Motorcraft 5w-20 Full Synthetic starting with the 7,500 mile oil change? Any concerns with making this switch?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks reddog. I will most likely be upgrading the car with the Mountune MP215 kit and the high flow induction hose so I wanted to be safe and even a bit overly protective when it comes to maintenenance. At a minimum, I like changing my own oil and it can't hurt to do it more often than required.
