BC Coilover Group Buy with Joe @ 2J Racing

Here's a place to talk about our proposed group buy with 2J Racing.

Several of us expressed interest in buying a set of coilovers, and it's time to see if we have seven or more members willing to commit.

I'm in for a "street setup". I'd like to preserve near-stock ride height, and I'm also interested in options for inverted body shocks and a remote reservoir setup. I don't know if this is even an option for our application, but I'd like to find out.

Assuming seven, what's our price for the standard build, each?

Who's in? :)

Just three more to hit the GB price
It appears that we won't be hitting the group buy price. :meh:
We are close, just two away. I will work with RodMoe and get the word out.
McRib's order has shipped. The parts were on the shelf for that one set. The other parts are in route to finish up the remaining 3.

Thanks but no rush, not installing till maybe march/April. But still would be nice to just stare at them everyday :)

I'll send you a YouTube-style "unboxing video" and maybe a picture or two. ;)

The wait must be killing you. How much of a drop you going down? And whats your wheel and tire setup?

Not in a hurry. I'm going to do the brakes and coilovers at same time. Going to wait until I get my wheels/tires in too, so it will be at least March 1st before I need the parts.

Big brake kit or pads?

The Wilwood kit. Haven't ordered the rears yet... still having an internal debate about those.

Not too bad or not as bad as I was waiting for the car.. at least I can go and look at them and reread the installation instructions and dig around in the Helms manual ... I have a set of Team Dynamic's Pro Race 1.2 15x8's on order waiting on those thinking I will go with a 225/24/15 so the tire diameter is only 1/2 inch less (lower to the ground) then I'll see where the car looks good with those and the daily driver tires stock 17's may have to adjust ride height on track days but it looks simple enough... Looking for maybe being able to get one finger of tire gab but will see might have to go taller as i don't want to look too slammed .. just a modest drop for looks then maybe more aggressive on the weekends. Like I said the tools that come with the BC coilovers look very well thought out and seem well built though I have not put them to the test yet :)

My only concern is how low till the rubbing starts. I want zero gap on my 205/45/17 or the most 1 finger gap.

I agree -- my car is just over 1" lower now and the 225s only rub slightly. Stock sizes won't rub at all.

This is with my test springs and almost no negative camber! On Friday I should be able to clear completely (if I can eek out at least a couple degrees negative camber). I'm drilling out the stock struts. What can go wrong? ;)

Coilovers are better all around for clearance -- you can dial in the negative camber and you get more inboard clearance (note my slight rubbing is the outboard side).
