BC Coilover Group Buy with Joe @ 2J Racing

18844 Views 206 Replies 20 Participants Last post by  raamaudio
Here's a place to talk about our proposed group buy with 2J Racing.

Several of us expressed interest in buying a set of coilovers, and it's time to see if we have seven or more members willing to commit.

I'm in for a "street setup". I'd like to preserve near-stock ride height, and I'm also interested in options for inverted body shocks and a remote reservoir setup. I don't know if this is even an option for our application, but I'd like to find out.

Assuming seven, what's our price for the standard build, each?

Who's in? :)

Any guess what height they are set at out of the box? I mean are they set at all or do you need to adjust from scratch no matter what?

Came home to see a box of coils waiting for me. Came in an official BC box with a little ups damage. Seems something poked a hole right through both boxes. I dont see any visible damage to the coils but damn ups is notorious for package damage. Wont know if anything is flawed till about march/april so heres keeping my fingers crossed my coils are in perfect working order.
Thanks Joe.

Typical UPS - but not to worry, the BCs are ok. We've got 4 years of racing on our set and they still function as they did when new.
I wish I had a place to install my own coils instead of paying someone to do it :(

...or head to Los Angeles! Like I offered before, we can do this as an installation party!

Also, and this is awkward...can you bring a LOT of water? It hasn't rained (or snowed!) in ages and we really need it. :)

Im concerned about this mass damper being removed for the BC install. Why a need for it with stock struts but no need for it with the coils?

By the way if we only needed one more buyer for our discount I believe we have reached our 7 with Colin1337!

I'm not concerned with the move to an aftermarket configuration. Whatever gremlin Ford was chasing may not be present anymore. The resonant point has surely changed -- this is a radically different setup (shape and mass) Also keep in mind that it could have been a really minor thing in the first place. It's also why they do things like keep the turbo, intake, and exhaust so quiet! We're enthusiasts and allow a small bit of noise for a big performance gain. Also, even if you could slap the old mass damper on, it most likely wouldn't work. We're totally fine. Let's wait for something to surface before worrying. :)
