HPDE/Track day related comment (I do not Auto-X)...
In the specific size (given your limits), there are not many options:
205/40-17
Falken RT-615K $139
A little bigger, but I've heard they fit fine:
215/40-17
Dunlop Direzza ZII $152
Falken RT-615K $145
I've used the prior version of the Dunlop Direzza ZII with good results and the Falkens as well (drove through 3 generations of those Falkens on my prior FWD HPDE track car).
These are both great performance values that are safe for driving to and from the track. Neither is stellar in heavy rain, but can stand a damp track.
My experience after about 15 minutes of going all out, is that both will get overheated (sometimes called "greasy"). So, best lap times occur early in a lapping session (thinking of an HPDE-styled open track day). Or, if you go easy on the front half to warm tires up a little gradually, then you can go hard from about the 1/2 to 3/4 mark, but they are street tires and will overheat.
I don't know that any of the street-oriented extreme summer performance tires would avoid overheating, but some do better in wet weather and might last longer. Those cost more and might not be available in these tire sizes.
