So I've loved the FiST since release and finally drove one couple days ago. Outside of the "messy" radio/climate control buttons setup, I really liked the car. Both my wife and I really loved the Recaro seats and the power felt good for what it is. As the title states I would be going from a 500 hp C6 to a 200hp fiesta. I don't need to, but I would like the lower my monthly payment and get something a little more conservative but still fun to drive with future mod potential. I don't currently DD the vette but do drive it 3-4 days per week, my DD however is on her last leg. I'm also tired of worrying about two cars and how many miles im piling on my vette; so the FiST would be my DD and fun car. I guess my question is, has anyone made this drastic of a trade off? Regrets?

I would likely be finding a low-ish mileage used model or exceptional deal on a new one. I do have x-plan.

Thanks.

Despite the huge downgrade in horsepower there is a good chance you'll find the FiST much more fun to drive. I once owned a C4 Corvette (Z51, 4+3) and a Bugeye Sprite simultaneously. The Sprite only had 42 horsepower but was way more fun to drive than the Corvette.

Hi there, I got my Fiesta ST back in Feb of 2014, and right before that I DD a 2006 Cayman S.
I'm in Toronto and given the terrible traffic that we have here I never felt I needed anything more powerful.
In fact it was more fun in some ways since I'm using more of the car's performance more of the time. Goes back to the old saying if driving a slow car fast.

Thanks for the replies guys, the more I read about them, the more I really want one. I'm finding it hard to find one with Recaros', nav, and moonroof. Meanwhile I can find foST with similar options and pricing pretty easy. While I'd like the extra room and power, for whatever reason I'm more drawn to the FiST. So I'm thinking thinking I'll just wait for the right one to "pop up". Only one in my area with the options I want is envy green and I'm not so sure that's me...

I don't know where you are, but if you're anywhere near So. Calif. I'd recommend you look at Galpin Ford in the valley. They usually keep about 40+ FiSTs in stock and are bound to have what you want. I bought mine from them and they had exactly what I was looking for, and I found them accommodating and easy to deal with.

Nope I'm actually on the east coast, nc to be exact. So far I've found an envy green and black one with those three options within 100 miles. I think I'm leaning toward a blue or silver one. I've been mostly looking at used cars.

Thanks for all the info guys, ended getting a FoST. Found a 14 ST3 completely optioned out with 12k miles for 21k out the door. Older couple owned with all service records. Obviously I jumped on it and am very pleased. Green filter on the way ;) why did ford have to make these bov resurculate??
