There's a bunch of threads (or 1 thread with a bunch of posts) on this issue. I've never had the problem but I know several other members have. Some people said turning off the hill start assist fixed their problem, and someone else suggested that "topping off" your tank causes this problem, as it messes with the pressure in the fuel system (or something like this).

Thread was on .org http://www.fiestast.org/forum/fiesta-st-discussions/437-weird-issue-after-every-fill-up.html

Here's the specific post about "topping off" http://www.fiestast.org/forum/fiest...ird-issue-after-every-fill-up-5.html#post7319

There some new stuff on the last 3 pages or so since I last read the thread, but no updates since mid Feb.

If I was you, I would bring it to the dealer, or even go fill it up with someone from service with you so you can show them and they can run a scan while it happens.

This FiST and the Explorer are the only cars that I don't top off because they are always full on the first click. I have never had a problem with stalling or otherwise.

Recently, however, the Explorer, a 2011, now has developed a clog in the EVAP system that prevents that tank from filling. Essentially, the pump cuts off after about 10 seconds of filling up the tank, and it takes forever to fill up the tank. I hope that is not systematic of the capless system...

So yeah this is the 4th time I have filled up the tank and everytime I fill it up the car stalls out about twice. After driving for about 5 minutes with the new gas it is back to normal. This is getting to worry me
Have you called your dealer about this? Send me a private message with your VIN, mileage, best daytime phone number, full name, and dealer name/location so I can loop in your customer service manager.

I have been topping off and no problems with stalling problems. I won't be topping off anymore though because last time there was some splash back when I pulled the nozzle out. The tank is pretty full when the pump stops automatically. Which is a bummer, I like round numbers when filling up.

The first two times I filled up my FiST if I tried to get some more gas in, a very small amount it would start to puke out underneath the car. So as a general rule as soon as the pump clicks off I don't try and get any more fuel in there.

I too have never had this stall issue either.

Im going to wait a bit and see if it happens again. I know how dealers are, if they can't replicated it nothing happens but a waste of my time. And even then, if Ford has no fix for it, nothing happens.

Thanks for the offer.

i've filled up about 12 times now and Thursday morning was the first time I experienced this issue. I was about to pull into traffic after getting gas and when I pushed the pedal the car died. No issues after that but this is very concerning. This was the first time I let the car get this empty gas wise as I usually fill up at about half full. This time I had less than a quarter of a tank (297.7 miles driven).

I usually fill it up when I have 20 miles to E. Do you think this could be the problem?
at how many miles to E does your low fuel level warning lamp come on? the 2014 Fiesta owner's manual says at 1.3 gallons (6 liters) remaining but the distance to empty may vary. I have not let my Fiesta ST fuel level get that low so I have not encounter the low fuel level warning lamp. My 2011 Fiesta low fuel warning would come on at 50 miles to empty every time.
