I decided to make my own balls.

This is only the prototype.
A final version is being made up at this time and it will have the shift pattern on it.

My only concern is that the paint will eventually were off.
For you or I that is not such a big deal as we both have blasters and can repaint.
Many others may not like that option.

The balls I suggest using are cast in color so it can NOT were off.

The surface is roughened to increase adherence. I really don't think it will wear off any more than any other painted plastic on our cars.

Since you have taken the time to figure out the thread pitch and reverse lock out stuff for your own knobs any chance you could get a shift extender made up for me? I would love one with a weighted knob. The knob feels miles away from the steering wheel.

I would need to think on this a while.
I am not changing the reverse lock out, just adapting to it.
Just raising the ball would be easy but then the lock out would be uncomfortable.
I will be taking my boot apart soon so I can see what to do.
Most people want is shorter and mine is about 1/2 inch lower.

Well I figured make the extension work with the existing lock out mechanism. Then machine in some kind of ergonomic into the extension so to get in reverse we would just have to move our hand down below the knob and grab the extension. Or something like that. I may have to make a bad MS paint drawing.

Of course I only plan on raising it a little, so that with a short shift kit it wouldn't cancel it out completely. So with the extension an otherwise 30% reduction is only 15% or something like that. So a compromise all around. With a weighted knob I should be able to breath on the shifter to make it shift haha.

I think the color match is dead on.

It even has that glow in the sunlight.

The ball is not the issue at this time.
Yes, you will be able to order the ball in any color configuration.

The next step is the adapter under the ball.
This one is only the prototype that I made.
I had to wait until now to make sure that everything fits perfect.

Hopefully I will be turning this part over to the shop that will be producing them this weekend.
