After fully detailing my car yesterday I noticed 3 paint chips in my hood. One far back towards the windshield and two near the headlight. Needless to say I'm not happy about it, especially considering how new the car is.

What are the chances that my dealer will do something about it for me? I picked the car up May 3rd, and can't see how I have 3 chips already. I haven't driven behind anything that could kick up debris like that, and the bumper and fenders are in perfect condition.

It's a hazard of driving a car unfortunately. I don't know how you'd convince a dealer that rock chips on a car is a warranty issue or something like that... I think the only way you'd be able to get it fixed by them is if you saw the chips on the car before you drove it off the lot.

I have about 8 maybe 9 pin sized paint chips, as well as a nice rock chip on my hood. The small ones were there when I bought it (didn't see them until I got home), in weird places too, roof, by gas door, etc. The paint on mine is so thin and delicate. Only thing I hate about my car is the paint.

Nothing you can do about it once the damage has been done. I was going to get the front end of mine wrapped, but on just the third full day of ownership I scored a massive chip at the very top of the bonnet. I figured then it was already too late...

Just drive it and enjoy it. Try not to think about it...

I'm trying lol. It's nicely waxed over until I can get the paint and touch it up. If it continues to happen I'll just end up dipping the whole car to help protect it, but I love my colour so much I dont really want to go that route.

Sorry to hear about that. It really sucks. I was coming back from the airport that I fly at the other day with a friend and a landscaping truck that was ahead of us hit a bump and pea gravel started spraying everywhere. I was quick to get past the guy and luckily didn't find any damage to the car.

On my last car, I only had it a few weeks and I came out of work and it looked like someone had keyed my door pretty badly (or some idiot had accidentally scraped a metal buckle from a bag or something on the door. Unfortunately the security cameras didn't pick anything up. Getting a whole door painted because of some careless jerk (or malicious asshole) is pretty awful before you've even had it a month.
