Hey everyone,

I am well aware that one of the effects of installing the Cobb RMM is "some" vibration at idle. My question is about vibration engaging first gear. I feel like I have to rev just passed 1000-1200 rpms to pass the vibration zone. Does anyone else have vibration around this same rpm range or is it merely just at idle?

Did you torque it down to spec on all the bolts? I had an issue with vibrations because I didn't torque it down right and once I did all was fine. Only vibration I get is at idle. Give it any gas and it goes away.

The shop where I get my oil changes done installed it, so maybe that's the issue. Thanks for the reply.

I found a post about needing to torque the bolts. I know for the Focus ST they have different torque values depending on the bolt location. Is it just 70 Nm (50 ft/lbs) for ALL the bolts or just certain bolts?

The things that need to be torqued are the bolts and studs as well as the nuts that go into the studs. The top nuts need to be tight so they don't back out but they aren't holding the mount so it's not crucial.

Since you didn't do the install yourself here's a video for reference. Honestly it's so easy you should have done it yourself.

24 days in and the vibration is still very prevalent. I'm thinking I'll probably be going back to the stock RMM. Has anyone had experience with this setup: http://www.modbargains.com/ford-fiesta-st-rear-motor-mount-kit-powerflex.htm ? I'm just curious if there are any vibration differences in comparison to Cobb's. I'd hate to sacrifice the performance perks, but the vibration is just too much for me.

Did you torque the bolts? If you haven't you should before you make your final decision... There is going to be a certain amount of vibration as it's a more solid mount than stock. Just a matter of how much vibration one can take. My old car vibrated a lot more on stock mounts than my Fiesta does on the Cobb mount. Since the Fiesta is so quiet at idle with the stock mount there were multiple times I had to check if the car shut off because I couldn't feel it. So I like the feedback of the vibration honestly and the mount is much better than stock.

I just installed the Cobb RMM on my 2018 FiST and my teeth are rattling. I installed it myself and figured tighter is better. Apparently not. Where are the torque specs found? I can live with a break-in period, but for how long is the question.
