That is most unfortunate.
I hope he is alight and the damage to the car is not too bad.

I have done this myself in the past.
It does look as if he did not warm up his tires good enough.

Dang,I wanted to see what the car looked like. I've seen this happen at Waterford Hills and other tracks and have gone off a few times myself but luckily avoided hitting anything solid.
This is why I'm going to stick to autocross, cones are easier on the car than tire walls.

I've always believed people should get a good year or two of AutoX under their belt befor they track day. It teaches you SO much about your car. I've literally had my evo in a 4 wheel sideways drift around a turn because of the sand, and because I had AutoXed and have had my car in every form of out of control, I easily corrected it like it was no big deal. AutoX is reaction racing. Track days are pattern racing.

Ice racing helps learn a car so very much if you have access to it .. And it is like Ice autoX not W2W though they do that too and it is fun I just want to learn my car on the edge with room to run out of the groove and not hurt much .. well until the snow banks freeze up hard mid season !! Duh...

I'm a new member on here but just happened to be at Oulton park on that day! 8th October I believe.
Glad no one hurt and hope the car can be repaired!
I was in the SEAT ibiza Tdi puffing clouds of black smoke lol!
