Current plans:

Meet at the Sonic in Newburgh, NY around 11AM on Saturday, June 7th. Address is 14 Liner Rd, Newburgh, NY 12550.

We'll grab lunch and hang out for a couple of hours and then head out around 1PM and take the scenic route up to Bear Mountain state park for some pictures if the weather cooperates.

I have also invited Focus ST owners and at least a couple have expressed interest.

I will PM my cell number to those interested so respond if you haven't already.

Great ideas Keith! I like them all, what's everyone else think? What about dates? I can't do Memorial Day weekend, but I'll try to accomodate other proposed dates. How about a Saturday in May or June? Does May 10th work?

I really want to do this soon. I started looking into Keith's suggestions and found out that there is a Sonic in New Windsor, NY, about 15 miles from Bear Mtn State park. I'm thinking we could meet up there for lunch and then head up to the park for a drive/photos. Thoughts?

Yea its basically in the Walmart parking lot, i think its more Newburgh then New Windsor but who knows what the internet says about it. I know a lot of weeks people meet at walmart on Friday night as well.

I might be down depending on the date. I've organized a NE Focus meet before to drive up the pass at Castle Craig. There's also Mt. Greylock in the Berkshires near Adams, MA, but it's pretty remote (and maybe too harrowing a road for a meet). Bear Mountain is less than an hour away for me, I think.

Based on Keith's suggestions, I'm proposing a meetup at Sonic near Newburgh, NY and a drive up to Bear MTN state park for the fun drive and a scenic photo shoot if the weather cooperates.

Just one suggestion, definitely open to others.

How about the 11th instead of the 10th? Sundays should be easier right

I will be at an Autocross in Stratford, CT that day and I suspect Keith will be as well. I know it's going to be tough to get everyone together on a single day. I plan to try and do several of these throughout the year.

Anyone who wants to is welcome to come to the autocross events as well. You just have to tell them you're there as crew for someone driving, and you can use my name. The nice thing about the Stratford events is that they allow passengers during the runs so you can get a taste.

FCSCC allows fellow drivers to ride all day. Crew/friends can only ride on fun runs.

For the record, this is the drive you guys are talking about, right? That weekend is iffy for me; I'll only know closer to the date if I can go, unless it gets pushed back toward around past Memorial Day.

I believe thats looks like what they are talking about. The part I brought up is not on that map but its a little detour that would be worth making and it isnt out of the way.

Cant wait to meet up with some fellow FiST owners, this is definitely something we should try and do once a month (maybe more, why not!). Im sure there are plenty of scenic drives around to be found that will keep it fresh as well.
