I did! It will be closer to looking "blacked out" with the Tuxedo black paint, plus the red calipres will go great with the red ST badging.

...Thinking of naming it "Vader."

Hmmm. They mentioned them in our brief yesterday. What did you hear to make you think that they weren't going to be offered?

I ordered them. With tux black. I just like the look. There are rumors going around on this forum and the FF that the wheels are back ordered. One guy said he was told by the dealer and others report seeing it changed on etis. The ford rep I asked hasn't heard anything about a delay but was checking with the brand manager. She is supposed to let me know but it's been almost a week with no news.

Sorry, I was not aware of that rumor. I'll try and find out more info.

The second wave of journalists are doing their Media Drive today. So, I know the Ford team is busy. It might take a day or so, but I'll do my best.

I did have them on the order.
My car fell into the slot that the painted wheel option will not be available.
The car is to be built without them.
This is confirmed by the window sticker.

This is the Reply I Got from my dealer Aug/6/2013 about my Dark wheels on my Order (note I have since gotten a VIN and they are telling me I have a Sept 9th week for the build)
Rumor is true, but a wheel "shortage" rather than "none available". We call these "Controlled Commodities" where a vendor can't supply enough of a part. Ford prioritizes orders with Controlled Commodities by date received and retail (sold) order versus stock order.

This explains why they were deleted from my order.
As I really only wanted the painted calipers this may be a good excuse to get a set of Wilwoods.

Hmmmm if the wilwoods come in black or yellow I may be able to do a seasonal change like I will my wheels !!! Great idea keeping the car looking new and exciting ;)
But I basically went for the dark wheels to hide the brake dust as well as give it the different look. The calipers were a non factor so they are just gravey :)

I just heard back from Meagan at Ford Service. She checked with her contacts and brand manager and no one has heard about any shortages or delays with the wheels.

I will add that my contact also just got back to me and said that there is definitely NOT any hold or delay on the Rado Gray wheel package.

They had anticipated that it would be a popular upgrade, but even their high estimates were slightly low. Seems they are selling like hotcakes. But, not to worry, the production has been adjusted and it's full speed ahead for the Rado Gray Lover's crowd.
