Fiesta ST Recaro seat break-in

I've read/heard about the "break-in" of the Recaros from both Fiesta ST and Focus ST owners, but I get conflicting information. Today, I called Recaro HQ in Michigan, and was told 'no, they don't break in'. However, they were so tight lipped about everything that I suspected they are saying that in case a customer buys them expecting a better fit after awhile and doesn'tget it.

Fiesta ST owners on this forum - what are your thoughts on the Recaros "breakining-in"? How long would you say it took, and what are your body measurements (no lying!)?

I was able sit in a Recaro equipped Fiesta ST at the Houston auto show on Wed, and after 10 minutes or so, the thigh bolsters seemed to be a little too much. I'm 5'10" and 210 lbs.

Initially the leg bolsters were a little tight for me (5'11", 220) but I either got used to it or they did break in after about 2000 miles. Probably a little of both.

DItto saved me the time typing this :) thanks BuB
Well cept for the body build ..6 foot 200 lbs
I have 10,000+ miles on mine...bought on Halloween. I'm quite a bit larger than you guys are, 6'1" 325lbs with a 44" waist. The seats while considered to be narrow are in fact very comfortable for me and I love the fact that they keep you secure when you decide to go twisty mode. Guys who are saying the seats are too narrow are most likely less wide than I am so take that with a grain of salt. I routinely do 10+ hour days of interstate driving with my ST and it's just as comfortable as my wifes 13' fiesta SE which has the normal seats. Once you get used to the recaros, they are very comfortable in my opinion.

Same for me. I am 5'9" and 230. The seats are tight but comfortable. It's like getting a hug from your car.;)
Man you guys are making me feel svelt at 5'10" & 175lb. I wear 32-30 jeans if that helps with figuring out body type. I'm more torso than leg.
Recaros fit like a glove for me. Love em.
Best seats I ever sat in. I'm 5'10" 185 and they are snug.. I found they have loosen a bit in the 4 months since I brought the car

I love 'em, my wife doesn't.

They remain pleasantly snug after a few months.

Mine do get wife approval. Probably don't have approval to provide her stats. She says they are only slightly snug in the hips.
I've never even noticed that the thigh bolsters were tight. I'm 6'0" 180. The seats are comfortable for my 1.25 hour commute 2 days per week.
Im 5'6 140 and a 30" waist and it fits me perfect I have no discomfort at all
Ditto, too. That's almost exactly my dimensions, but I experienced discomfort for a short period. I think my shoulders are wide for my frame. I also have bigger legs, but that part felt good from the start.

We're also seeing differences in personal tolerance as much as we're seeing claims of breaking-in. I think both happened for me.

It's just good science. We need to know her dimensions to have a meaningful data point! :)

Dangerous ground you're treading, even in the name of science! ;)

Haha, I know! I'm just kidding around. FWIW, my gal says it's comfortable but snug -- she's 5'2" and tiny, too. She likes not sliding around! :) She noted that a more upright position is more comfortable. If you try to kick back, I think it gets pretty uncomfortable.
Hey everyone, I just test drove my first '14 Fiesta ST. I only put 10 miles or so on it but the seats felt decent. I'm 5'6", 170lbs, more torso than legs and the seats felt snug. I had a hoodie on and the torso bolsters might have started annoying me but I'm not sure since the whole car was a new feeling to me. I'm interested in purchasing but I have to think about it.

For those of you who have put more miles in the car, do the seats feel hot after a while since they wrap around the body so much? My body generates a lot of heat and it can get pretty hot here during Texas summers. Thanks!

They can get a bit toasty.
