I've been a fan of the Fiesta since it came to the states and have been wanting a Fiesta ST since the time they went into production. I jumped in the first ST at my local dealer in September 2013 for a test drive and was sold. I have driven many on and off the track since. The problem was I was in college and not financially able to buy a new car. Then when I got a decent job I had a goal in mind. $10k down payment to save up to. So here I am. Just shy of my $10k mark but the car still has to be built so I'll be above my mark by then.

Been talking to a dealer for about a month now figuring out how this whole process works. I went in today and told him the exact options I want and got pre-approved for financing through Ford and put my deposit in for the order.

My order:
2016 Fiesta ST
Molten Orange
Recaro Package - Smoke Storm
Navigation
$25,180 MSRP

Two things I have found out that are different besides the new colors (which are outlined in a different thread). The new Sync 3 system will replace the My Ford Touch system in all 2016 Fiestas. The ST now comes standard with the Rado Grey wheels and has optional Ebony Black wheels. The silver wheels are no more.

Good for you! Now the wait begins; mine was longer than average - I ordered in late July last year and picked her up one day after dealer delivery in mid- December - seemed like an eternity, but worth the wait as I got the color/options I wanted. Mine's actually more of a weekend car so I don't even have 3,000 miles on it yet at the six-month mark (which is today), but I did the Break-in 101 thing and so far no problems whatsoever. I saved up and paid cash so she's all mine; I have a smile on my face every time I take her out for a spin - you made the right choice!

Thanks. My wait has been longer than just the build time, so I think I can wait the couple extra months. It's gonna be harder knowing the car is finally on the way but it will be worth it, especially for the 2016 with the Sync 3.

I'll be daily driving mine and replacing a 2003 Ford Escort ZX2 that I bought in 2008. It has been lightly modified to attempt to do what the Fiesta ST does stock.

Sure wish I had my Fiesta already. My car knew it was getting replaced soon and retaliated on me. Transmission started clicking. So I gotta drop about $1000 on a car that's only worth maybe $2.5-3k to get me another 4 months of use. Oh well, that's how it goes I guess. Can't wait for the new car. While my car has been fairly reliable it has started having a lot of old car problems lately, so I'll be glad to be driving a new and reliable car so I don't have to worry about it.

For now I'm driving a 2015 Focus SE sedan rental. Automatic transmission is boring and can't quite read my mind so it shifts when it wants to. I hadn't driven a Ford dual clutch auto for any length of time before but this thing is kinda strange. Creeping when just letting off the gas does some light shuddering which is probably not at all good for the clutch pack and probably a lot of the reason why they die so prematurely.

Build date scheduled 9/7. Dealer estimates 2-3 weeks from there to delivery. Is that a realistic time from build to Central Texas for transport? I was estimating early to mid October just counting the weeks from order date based on what others have said.

Took almost 2 months for me to get a build date. So you're still within the realm of realism to getting a build date. I'm not sure when you ordered in July but if it was towards the end of July then the end of Nov would be about right. I tried to order mine early on for ordering for the 2016s

There's a thread on here specific to the factory order wait times and several have been around 17 weeks. Unfortunately if you were told by the dealer it would only be a 2 month wait time or something like that then unfortunately they didn't really know the actual numbers as most dealers don't. They go by the order times for other cars at completely different plants probably. I was well aware of the wait time and I'm estimating mine will probably be here right around 17 weeks.

On a different note I did get my VIN. I was probably already produced awhile back but I finally got my salesman to give it to me. haha. I guess the window sticker doesn't get produced until closer to the build date though since I tried to look that up with the VIN.

Decided to check and see if the window sticker got produced yet and found that it was up today. One step closer. I'm curious why this one has red coloring and the ST watermark when all the other ones I've looked at have been blue surround with no watermark. Guess it's a special order thing.

This car can't come soon enough as my current car continues to fall apart and cost me more money. I'm really only going to make money back on all the money I spent on repairs on this thing in the past 4 months when I sell it. Good grief...

Related to my current car...the reason I don't trust shops to work on my cars is because they don't take the same care working my car car that I would. I had my car in for a transmission replacement in June because I just didn't want to or have time to do it myself (I have done it before). I've been having this clunk when starting from a stop or shifting for awhile. I tried to find the clunk by the motor mounts and replaced the driver's side axle even. I was convinced the transmission I got swapped in was bad as well (used transmission). Nope. The dinks that did the transmission swap didn't notch the new axle nut they put on for the passenger side. So it slowly backed out and completely came off. I assume it had completely popped off only a couple days prior to me finally finding it.

So that being said I will only trust a shop to work on my Fiesta if I absolutely have to. I really only took my ZX2 to a shop for wheel alignments so the fact that one of very few times I took it to the shop they messed up, the statistics are not looking good.

About two weeks left. May be a bit longer if it comes in on a day I can't pick it up right away because I ordered the car from a dealer that is about an hour and a half away. I told the salesman to let me know as soon as it shows up so I can see about probably getting off work early to go pick it up if it is a day I am free to drive down that evening.

This will be the longest 2ish weeks of the whole wait. Honestly this Summer seemed to fly by. I'm glad I decided to order sooner than originally planned though.
