Just did my first one at 1500 miles. Installed Ford FL-910S ($3.50 @ wally world) and standard Mobil 1 5W-20. Same combo I ran in my previous 2.3L turbo duratec Focus with no issues.
Next oil change Ill do at 5K and likely every 5K afterwards unless I have some prolonged high temp hard drives in there.
Before you remove your filter, as someone else mentioned, turn the little C clamp away from the filter like this:
