Additionally, this SEB would like to update the membership about Solo helmet legality.

"Rule 4.3.1 requires that Snell rated helmets meet the latest or two immediately preceding Snell Foundation standards. The 2015 standard helmets will not be available for sale until October 2015, so Snell rated helmets meeting the Snell SA or M standards for 2000, 2005, and 2010 will remain compliant for Solo use in 2015." Both of these updates will be in the next Fastrack.

No but based on reports from the grid it seemed to be in the works I didn't think they would do it this soon...

Am I the only one who didn't see this coming?
I'm slightly surprised myself. I was assuming they would move the FoST up to DS to battle with the Mazdaspeed 3 but instead FiST goes down to HS, FoST says in GS, and the Mazdaspeed 3 gets bumped down to GS to battle the FoST. 2015 should be interesting...

My local HS competition isn't too impressive. To the Pro/pax class!

Fingers crossed for better Street pax in 2015. There were events where I would have had to trim 7 seconds off to top pax. I'm not a world class driver, but I didn't leave that much time out there.

Moving the FoST to DS would have buried it when paired against the WRX in most circumstances. The FoST has brought good numbers to GS and moving the Speed 3 down will only increase participation as will adding the 15 GTI. Even if the FoST moved, various other cars in GS would have dominated it. I am glad to see they brought a bunch of cars down to HS as that will only increase participation.

Yes! I'm all in...
And the GS pax is going to skyrocket...I'm guessing an 0.816 again like in R-comp days...
Rick kneecapped the street classes. The GS PAX is pretty spot on. I believe that HS is also fairly close to where it should be as evident of the Mini finishing ahead of the FoST on index at some of the events. When driving the FoST/FiST back to back the other weekend, I would have been faster in the FiST using an HS index vs the FoST which would actually point to a softer HS index. I am finishing in Milwaukee on PAX very similarly to how I did in previous years in the Genesis and BRZ and by no means has the FoST been an over dog on index. The Pro index is pretty soft but there are a number of other classes such as ESP, CM, FM, KM, SM, that are also soft IMO. As Rick mentioned when he posted the Pro Finale index results, over 50 cars out of 283 where within a second on index and quite a bit more than 50 on the one side of the course.

With the 370z being moved to BS, I have a harder choice in trying to decide if I run the BRZ next year or the FoST...the index changes will probably play a large part in that decision. Part of me still wants to trade the BRZ for a FiST....any takers for a CS prepped BRZ?

They probably don't care as they have dominated for so long and we don't have the ability for suspension tuning they do. Locally my group is fairly fast, HS pax will actually put me into or close to the top 10 as calculating my numbers in HS moves myself up quite a bit. Of course after letting so many people drive the FiST this year I have a LOT of people thinking about buying one. Either way based on this information I will be driving the FiST at nationals this year leaving the rest of my fleet for fun/local/non-point events.

The other thing is that is strange is the lack of STF competition. HS is most likely going to be a faster class then STF which makes one wonder why even prep for STF now. The FiST moving do HS also shows that STX probably isn't a good home for it either.

If I hadn't just picked up another fwd car to mess with I would have considered it. Index changes are going to be interesting and my interest in the national events now I will be fully entrenched in the silly season discussion.

I wonder how the Mini guys are taking this...

Per Greg Reno (BTW he has a totally different take on ProSolo as Travis does):
"I may not be in H-Street next year. Since they didn't move the Focus ST to D-Street next year. Its now all up to Howard to fix the ProSolo indexes...or I'm leaving H-Street. No way can I keep up with the Focus ST on a ProSolo course. The DS ProSolo index needs about 1sec adjustment per side, 2sec total, for me to stay."

He may have meant GS, don't know. And if the Celica and Genesis set the Pax in GS the past several years and you guys blew them out by a second, the GS pax will go up. ::: 127.942x0.816=104.401. 129.308x0.806=104.222. Much more compatible. The FoST times are like past GS on r-comps. 2013 pax was 0.816.

I could see if going back to .816 based on this years numbers.
