Nope, just tabs, I take it off at the track and put it back on before I leave. It protects the FMIC from large objects that could hit the front during normal hwy driving.

Start at one side and pull forward, you will hear it pop and then work your way to the other side.

You can see what it looks like on my car with it off here:

I know this isnt the best for style but you could always put a screen in front of the FMIC. I have seen people do it on radiators on their DD's and it prevents alot of junk from getting stuck in there.

I ran with and without the lower grille and noticed zero change in intake charge temps, but it sure looks good with it off. I put it on for the winter to protect the intercooler from large chunks of ice and debris flying towards the front of the car. I will remove it again in the summer. A screen is the best option to protect the intercooler from debris.

I just popped out the removable portion on mine, leaving the vertical rows. Looks sweet with the Cobb FMIC!

Not sure if I would want to remove the grill when daily driving... It protects the FMIC. Some of the aftermarket one have really thin fins that are susceptible to rock hits, road debris and probably large bugs.
This car has been driven in Minnesota for more than ten years with the intercooler mounted exactly as you see it, they're really pretty tough.

Granted the intercooler does take some abuse and won't stay beautiful but then again, it's a car, it's meant to be driven.

The horizontal slats just pull out as mentioned above. The vertical ones you have to cut, but I was hesitant to do so because I was worried that without them, the lower area might start to flap as it's not super thick.

Here's a picture of mine with the verticals still in place. My IC is black, so they blend in good enough that it doesn't matter much.
