There were a number of missions for August for the Fiesta Movement to run the Fiesta ST on a drag strip. Oddly, there were no takers.
Why would that be? Lack of skill set? Lack of track options? I'm just learning about those "missions". Can't believe a 1/4 time hasn't been seen yet for regular joe. Anything sub 15 should be OK. It's not a 1/4 car anyway.

Not sure, I figured somebody would pick it for a mission. There are a ton of really good missions that don't get picked. Everything from racing at famous tracks, SCCA autocrosses, Skip Barber school, and top speed runs. Those of us who really want to do those missions are the ones that usually have killed their tires by now and can't do those kinds of missions. Agent67 and I are two of those agents.
I looked on this site and didn't find this: http://www.examiner.com/article/2014-ford-fiesta-st-sets-quarter-mile-drag-racing-time

Won't bother mentioning the lack of driving skills. Oops, I just did. No matter, glad someone was able to get to the track with a new Fiesta ST.

That's pretty good.

One of these days some one is going to figure out how to make one really hook and get the 60' time a lot lower. Add in some cool air and low 14s might be possible.

I want to add enough power that I could run solid 13s (if I was any good at the track, I've never tried because I don't have a local track).
No offense, but you're going to need quite a bit more HP to get solid 13's out of this car AND having never been to a track. The car magazine drivers aren't the best and they hit 14.9 so far. A "good" driver could probably hit 14.7 at best in great weather. Sub 14's needs another 50-70HP I imagine. If not more. Plus a good driver. A 13.9 1/4 mile won't be easy nor cheap with this car.

What saddens me is my neighbor back in 1987 drove his stock GLHS 14.4-14.5 consistently at the track. I know it's a lighter car, but for sure with less HP. 26 years later our hot hatchbacks still can't match that 1/4 mile time.
