They are two layer vinyl.
The orange is set within the chrome outer oval of the original badge,
The next chrome oval and Ford were laired on top.
No trouble at all just sticking them on.

These look great! My only concern before I purchase a set would be if I ever needed to remove them. If they're just vinyl, in theory you should just be able heat them up and peel off? What do you think Dave?

I can't speak for others however mine ARE vinyl and do peal off.
I do use a nine year Avery vinyl (900 Cast) so after it sets, it does take a little effort to get off, but it does come off.

I was told mine peel off and if it leaves residue just clean with alcohol. The black matte background on mine is actually the wrap they use to wrap a whole car. They have carbon fiber also.

Is there an active production of these going now? I'm personally interested in something in black. Maybe even a subdued gray on black?
I don't have any gray.
I do have gloss and mat black, yellow, lime green, red, white, and orange.
Next time I am at my supplier I will look for gray.
I only buy remnants as the smallest roll is about $65.00.

Ooh! I'd go for gloss (letters) on matte. Sign me up for two! I can pay you at the C&C event.

On a related note, I removed the Fiesta logo. I originally planned to black it out, but just removed it. It's undamaged, so I could put it back. I used my low-temp (400 deg F) hobby gun on it. I use it to pre-heat my nitro-methanol .28 RC engine...

Anyhow, I also toyed with plastdip spray. I masked off the rear oval and sprayed a few coats. It's black, but a little weird. It's also "too textured". I'm going to peal it off. I have a photo if anyone wants to see it on a Tuxedo Black car. I guess with the limo tint, it's too murdered out for me.

Being a retired Ford guy and bleeding Ford blue I'm not crazy about what you guys are doing with the badges either. I wasn't very happy when Jac Nasser came along and changed the shade to Australian Blue. Certainly to each his own but that badge is part of the Ford identity.

I totally respect that. I recently saw an interesting story that illustrated the many times the logo has changed, and it has changed a lot. You can see the evolution over the years, each being a small tweak along the way. Today's logo pays homage to the original while being totally new. Keeping a brand fresh and modern is part of a company's life cycle. Ford is a proud American company with a heritage that no other car company can match.

To be clear, I'm not a "Ford guy". This is only my 2nd Ford, and I've owned close to 30 cars so far. What you're seeing is a new type of buyer and enthusiast. Dare I say it's the new Ford that brought many of us here. This ST (and the Focus before it) are firmly rooted in the European market. I'm thankful it's here, and I'm happy to own this Ford. This is an exciting new chapter for Ford. On a related note, watch the MotorTrend podcast with Ford's Chief Engineer at ST and you'll see that he says much of the same thing.

We're toying with the car's aesthetics, and I believe nobody aims to insult. Looking back, I would have chosen a different way to say this. I forgot how deeply rooted feelings are about this. We're not going to have pony car wars here, and it's refreshing that this board is not dominated by anti-Chevy chest beating. This thread is about how some of us want to tweak the car and logo, and nothing else.
