Anyone downloaded any useful apps for their FiST? I'd like to see a performance menu on the screen (lateral Gs, lap timer, 0-60, 1/4m, gauges)

I believe I mentioned this elsewhere already. Hope someone can. Seeing as it can do a complete vehicle health report, is should already be tied into the entire system and ODBII. Only needs a nice GUI made to display it.

On my old 7" Pioneer Z3 sat/navigation system I had in my R32, they had a g-force 3 gauge screen option that was good to use at AutoX events. Sure hope one could be made for our systems, along with a boost gauge!
In the Top Gear video comparison, the Renault Clio had this in their car. Even had an exhaust sound selection, to change what you heard while driving.
I have mentioned to those who can get that done, however, the MFT unit doesn't talk to the PCM in regards to pulling in data to display. There might not be enough interest for Microsoft to generate the screens and the ability to gather the data. I was looking for a boost gauge, coolant temp, oil temp, oil pressure, lateral G, brake/throttle percent applied, and possibly exhaust temps. I screen to monitor the engine would be very helpful.

Well, here's to hoping they open it up like Android phones, and allow independent coders to create apps for us!
The data runs through the CanBus lines.. very easy to tap into (hi / low). I could see an interface coming out, its just too easy not for someone to tackle.
What can you even use the app thing for? Isn't it only for apps through your phone such as pandora?

You can use an Ultragauge (latest model) to see boost, throttle percent, coolant temp. Offhand, I don't know about the other items in your list.
Actually I don't even know if you can use Pandora with my ford touch. I keep forgetting to try. Has anyone tested it?

It does work OK with via Bluetooth but the only car controls that works are next track and play/pause, artist and title display also, have got this to work with my android phone and my ipad. Changing stations, thumbs up/down etc. have to be done on the phone. The Ford Applink for Pandora is for non touch systems only but supposedly one will be developed for MyFord Touch eventually. http://autogeeks.com/2013/07/12/myford-touch-applink-support-in-the-works/
There are LOTS of posts on the web from Ford buyers who are very unhappy that applink works on basic Sync systems but not on the MyFord Touch system they paid extra $$$ for....hopefully Ford will fix this someday. http://boards.synccommunity.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=1&nav=messages&webtag=fordsyncmb&tid=6261
FWIW the sound quality of Pandora One (paid account) via my cars bluetooth is very good, waaay better than the horrible Sirius music audio.
Wouldn't it be great if Cobb would come up with an APP that would allow the gauges from the AccessPoint to displayed?
If Ultragauge can do it Cobb should be able to.

The Ford OpenXC platform looks like it has great potential, not much has been done yet though....interesting that they went with android rather than ios

I can understand Android over Apple because Microsoft wrote the Sync software.
But why not add the Windows phone to the mix.

Some of you guys might like this app called Torque. It's a few bucks in the play store(not sure about the app store) and you have to buy a Bluetooth Obd2 scanner but you're able to view live information and clear codes with the app. I've got it and just like to mess around with it in my 2009 Focus and it's fantastic.

This Android app Torque would be perfect for this! Only need a way to get it to display on the Ford My Touch / Sync screen, not on the phone. Special reason to want on the built-in screen, is because as someone already broke into my 2 week old Fiesta ST just to steal an older Escort 9500i radar detector, if they see a phone mount in the car, they will break into any car looking for something to steal, thinking if they see the mount, most people are too lazy to bring the device in with them. And, they DO WATCH for that, too!
Yeah, that is true. When I do get my FiST, the only time I could see myself using it(unless I've got a Cobb AP) is if I've got somebody else in the car and they could hold it.

My dad actually got an OBDII wifi connector that I stole and been using with my HTC One. Very cool, though until I get a mount its too dangerous to look. Good for keeping my passenger entertained though.
I definitely see someone coming out with a way to link some of the more popular apps. Too many knowledgeable shops out there..
