I'm also considering this exhaust after the Cobb sticker shock. I'll probably have it shipped to Niagara again and drive it back across the border (worked great for the MP215 kit).

Anyone know who makes the muffler on this exhaust? Magnaflow?
Fswerks had the muffler custom made. Where do u ship in niagara? Any trouble with customs?

These guys:

Just register, order the parts to the address they give you and send them an email 1-2 days before you go pick it up. Worked great for my MP215 kit.

No problems at the border. Just tell the guard the value and they send you into customs to pay the HST. It will be around $75 for the exhaust. Super easy!

Worst part was waiting to cross into the US and the American guard slamming my trunk :rage:

Yea. Exactly. I'm wondering if I should just get this and forget what Mountune will have. Cuz there's no way it's going to be $550.

Wanna order two and I'll meet you at the border? Lol
So with the discount, exchange rate and HST it will be ~$590. I think that's a dirty good deal for the quality of this unit. The cheapest shipping option to New York is $59 UPS Standard. If they were offering free shipping I would be 100% sold.

Yea not too shabby. If we split the shipping it would be $50 each, not free but a tiny bit less...

I just did some " rough calculations", and the FSWERKS cat back exhaust total cost to me including freight, guessed exchange & GST is 620.00, whilst the COBB is 865.00. WOW..245.00 more for the COBB

How are you getting the $865 number? I did exchange and HST on the Cobb unit and came up with ~ $890.
I got $650 for the FSWerks and if I buy Cobb it could be as much as $983 because there is a vendor in the gta that has them in stock... No waiting. Or Oder from Cobb w/ free shipping would be about $896.

I think Mikeygti only has GST not the 13% HST

My original quote referencing pricing mentions " rough calculations" lol The real point is the BIG difference in cost between FSWERKS & Cobb

Yea... Cobb did do a lot of testing on theirs and there are actual brackets with gaskets. Where fswerks came out pretty quick and uses clamps. Don't know if that's a bad thing though. Probably saves weight. Mountune uses clamps on thier focus exhaust so probably the same on the fiesta.
Anyway just trying to see where the added $200 cost comes from other than the name.

If you ever get to see more than one brand of exhaust system in person you will understand why there are differences in prices. However, that is usually not practical or possible for most people.
I agree. While I will probably never see all 3 systems I will see at least one...

But I guess it's like name brand vs no name food. They look similar but you can tell the difference when you eat it.

I also agree with this statement. $200-$300 over a +5 year ownership of a vehicle isn't a lot when it all boils down. I don't have a problem paying more for a product that offers superior performance and quality. However, I won't pay a premium for a product that costs more simply because of the name stamped or etched on it.

Based on reviews, videos, pictures and descriptions, it appears that both units discussed in this thread offer similar quality and performance. However, that observation comes from someone who hasn't felt, heard or seen either unit.

I think a lot of us are chomping at the bit for a high quality exhaust that represents good value for the money. I'm eagerly waiting for what Mountune will release which may influence my purchasing decision...

Just noticed another difference. Cobb says their exhaust is about 1lb heavier than stock. FSwerks says theirs is 5lbs lighter than stock... Same size piping. Both 304 stainless steel... If fswerks thinner metal or something?
