Your likely right. But promising!!
They are offering a calibration/cold air pack for $795 which is a better price point than what I've been hearing mountune will come in at.

wonder if they can put this in the Ford Service manual so it would be SCCA legal...
It'll never be in the service manual, from the tech notes,

"Federal and state laws prohibit any person from installing aftermarket add-on or modified parts prior to the sale of a new motor vehicle"

Which means that Ford dealers can't even install the tune prior to sale, dumb question but how would SCCA know if you were running a tune other than being a ton quicker than other STs?

And yes I would expect FRPP to release a tune for the FiST in the next year or so.

It's very cool Ford has FRPP, it's one of the reasons I choose the FiST as my new toy. I was hoping they would have offering similar to the Mustang. Judging by the parts rolling out for the FoST we should have some great options. Makes it fun as an owner and beginner amateur racer.

You could probably get away with it, but that would be cheating...and being faster would not be as satisfying.
True, I've never autocrossed either so have no idea how they work the classifications. I think I'd just compare my times against myself and not worry about rankings, I'd never find time to do it on a regular basis anyways.

As long as the people buying the cars don't wait years until their warranties run out to buy the parts that get released.

Look back at the Mk1 Focus, at one point there were at least 4-5 supercharger kits on the market but due to slow sales they were all discontinued, as people ran out of warranty or cars got to 2nd owners and they wanted kits there weren't many or any left on the market.

The Mustang crowd tends to be a bit different, about half of them will gladly void their warranty instantly and many have the parts to do it ordered before they even take delivery of their new car.

But wait, there's more! FRPP also offers the "Power Package" for $1695. It adds an upgraded exhaust to the deal, and the reported overall performance gains are . . . identical to the tune/plugs kit. Hmmm. Either they think FoST owners are dumber than bricks, or they're doing a lousy job of justifying the various levels of performance upgrades. Or both, maybe. o_O
