If anyone in the GTA/Mississauga etc area locates a dealer that has a FiST available for test drives, please post here! We could use this thread for GTA dealer experiences as well.

I spoke to markville ford. They are supposed to have 3 on their way there. The guy was going to contact me when he had more info... But we all know how that goes.

I think northway ford in Brantford actually has a black one on their lot. If its not sold already. It's on their website with a bunch of pics. Although they have it listed at $47,177....

Thanks for the info. That price cracked me right up - must be a typo or other error. For that amount I'd be snapping up a new 2014 Golf R or a M235i in the near future...

I checked yesterday and its now been changes to $29,177 before tax. which is the correct price because its fully loaded and includes freight etc etc.
Still too high - this car's value point is at about 23K. Hopefully there will be a few around to test drive around soon.

I'm pretty sure all dealers will laugh at you if you offer them 23k.

Even with invoice pricing it's still 26-7k. I think the only time you will be able to get one in Canada for 23k is in 1-2 years for a used 2014.
Well the base one in Canada is just over $23 to start now because of employee pricing.

Then you're comparing apples to oranges. Yes a base FiST is worth $23k but if you want that particular build, you'd have to pay more. You don't go into a dealership telling them you want to pay the base price for the fully loaded vehicle.

Never hurts to try!
If you want to be taken seriously, don't try that unless its a vehicle that has been on the lot for many months, like 6+ months. People remember and if you ever go in actually wanting to buy a car at a reasonable price they may be unwilling to deal.

If you look you can find car price web sites to see the best deals people are getting. When you know what a dealership can reasonably do, then you can bargain trying to get to that point, just don't low ball too hard and always be willing to walk away because that is all you've got.

Even if you are only interested in one car, talk about cross shopping against competing manufacturers and you can even cross shop Fiesta vs. Focus.

When a dealer knows that you are hooked they will try to drain as much cash as possible but when they aren't sure they have a sale, they just try to get the sale which is what you want them doing when you bargain.
You always go into the dealer knowing the price you are comfortable with. Then expect to pay a bit more than that. It will help you walk away easier. But you never let the salesman know your top dollar. Especially now with employee pricing. From what I understand since its a ford incentive the dealer doesn't loose any money and they can in fact go lower. But they will sell you the fact that employee pricing is the lowest you can get. My dealer gave me an additional $500 off after employee discount, plus no admin fees. Not to mention the 0% financing...

I should have been clearer there - I would only be interested in the base build, which in Canada includes the Recaros. No sunroof for me. I might add the nav though. I would never pay more for this car than for a base FR-S.

Cool. You didn't actually pay $47,177 did you? I thought that was a pricing error.

I got mine in October after placing an order with a dealer closer to my home.

God no.. But my trade in is still sitting there in their lot as of last week...
I bought mine in Guelph at the start of May, and at the time they had two ST's on the lot, but they trucked mine in from GTA area because I wanted base and Performance Blue. I also have X-Plan through work so no negotiations required except for my trade in, which I was happy with.

Edit: I also got in just before the Gas Card went away, so that's a nice bonus. If you have a cost-co membership you can get another $500 off
I got mine in May from Markville, with very good service from Damien Pavlidis, the salesman. Basic, no option model, hence the 3 month wait but great price.
They even let me take my Labrador on the test drive! ( I needed to see if she fitted in the cargo area, w/o the cover of course.)
