Today I was finally able to put my summer tires back on and man am I glad I did. Went for a spirited drive through some back roads for the first time in months. I had almost forgotten how fast these cars can take turns at.

Just did the same this weekend, but for me it was just getting the car on the road. It was in my garage since January, just drove home from the dealer. Did not winter drive as I have a company vehicle. Also had to wait for my prefered car detailer to get my extensive 3M film work done. He is always booked up for weeks, but wanted the film on before I drove it much.

Still in break in mode, but this car has me totally surprised at how competant it handles the turns and sweepers.

I came from a Miata wilh a full suspension package springs, shocks,, sway bars strut tower brace and lower suspension braces as well and the Fiesta stock is not far off what my Miata was capable of with a lot of money put into the suspension. Definitely better than I expected. Ride quality also better than the Miata as well as the lowering springs made it a bit on the stiff side.

It IS a fantastic handling little car.

Friend of mine just got a spankin new Mk7 Golf GTI.
While the ride comfort level is better, it just doesn't have that poise when pushed, that *feel* is lacking.
If anything it feels a tad nose heavy.

Exhaust tone/turbo whistle is also much more muted.

Much prefer the ST :)

*Plus onroad price is redonkulously different. FiST can be had for 26-27K Australian. FoST is 35-38K. A GTI? 51K.
