I have never been a big fan of naming vehicles.
The first vehicle I named was in 1957, my very first car.
The last one was in 1972 and it was a motorcycle.
I have already ordered a license plate for the FiST with the name on it.

Here is a hint.
It tears through anything leaving nothing but destruction in its wake.

I've never named a car. I thought about it before but never could find a name that I liked. It just seems silly to me now to name an inanimate object.
This is also exactly the way I felt but this time was different some how.
Maybe it is because this is the longest I have ever waited to buy a car, I usually just buy one off the lot.
I am also not very creative either as the motorcycle I mentioned way also named TAZ.
The FiST will be known as and bare the plate of "TAZ ST".

BTW, both orange.

My thought on it was what if I use a name I really like and then I have an animal (or less likely a kid) that I'd like to use that name with instead. I don't want to name something living after my car so I wouldn't use that name even if I thought it was perfect. That sounds kinda weird now that I've typed it out, but whatever. :p

As much as I like my current car with the time, money, blood, sweat, and tears I've put into it and miles I've put on it, I still don't think I'm so attached to my car that I must name it, and I would be pretty dang sad if it got totaled or if I ever sold it because my car is probably my favorite and most expensive possession. With the ST, it already comes with some pretty good performance goodies from the factory so that means I won't have to put in the wrench time to install them myself. That's good and bad. Doing all I have done with my ZX2 I know my way all around that car. Since I really wouldn't mod my ST I wouldn't really have the same amount of wrench time into the ST as my ZX2...means less attached probably, no name.

I've had a number of cars that I liked so much that there was a certain emotional attachment including a red SVT Focus and a purple Probe GT. But not enough for me to actually assign a name. I think even if I did the wife and kids would poopoo the name as silly and not really respect the use of it. That's OK, even if I really fall in love with the FiST it will most likely still be referred to as "The ST" or simply "Fiesta".

I don't give names to things that won't come when I call them. ... ... although I do call the Sprite (avatar photo) "the red thing".... but as far as anthropomorphizing things... Nah....

Others feel differently. Do what makes ya happy.

I named mine STannis after Stannis Baratheon from Game of Thrones. They have similar facial expressions.
