This morning it's -20 here in southern ontario my wife was going to work and the heater system would not turn on at all?
Anybody have this happen to them?
Can't drive the car due to the windshield fogging up and freezing

Thanks

I think the problem is if snow and ice gets into the heating vents through the windshield area which causes the blower to no function anymore and cause fuse to blow. I too am waiting for this part, my dealer has the ice shield piece, they are waiting for a special clip to install it which is back ordered.
The only thing I would recommend as a temporary fix is to put a towel over the outside portion of the vents from preventing snow and ice from entering the vents when parked. My car gets garaged at night and I haven't experienced any issues as even if some snow gets in there it melts in the garage over night. We had some cold days here too.

Dealer is Still waiting on the parts, the car has been at the dealer for 11 days now

I guess it's kinda like winter storage! :)
Hopefully your parts will show up soon, I've got an appointment this Thursday for my dealer to install the new ice shield and special back ordered clips. If my dealer can get the clips this probably means Ford is getting caught up on the back ordered parts.
Yes it is

They are installing a new ice shield cover and new clips, I would recommend anyone to get this done whether they have had issues or not. This issue is a design flaw by Ford. I never had any issues either, I complained to my dealer about this issue, although one time I had snow come in for a couple of seconds. I didn't want to wait till one day and I've got no heat and can't drive.

Here's after the dealer installed the ice shields. I think these are what they added. I remember looking these before and seeing a big hole, maybe someone can confirm. Service rep at Dealer couldn't tell me where this ice shield and clips got installed.

I'm talking about the small strips below the foamy part

I have the part numbers from the service order, should be able to search on Fordparts.com

I did a Google search and the grill portion in the three pictures I attached showed the same thing as online pics. So now I'm not too sure what exactly the dealer installed. The installed 2 screens - part number D2BZ-18D395-A and 4 clips BE8Z-14197-A. Can't finds pics online though

I see no small strips...
Are you saying on your car you have no small strips below the foamy portion and basically have a big hole for where the air enters the car? My car was built 7/2013.

Not sure about your part number, is there a TSB that refers to fixing the problem with the part number you have shown?

The TSB my repair was done under is 13-11-17.

Not sure how your dealer came up with those p/n's? The correct p/n is CE8Z-54020C16-A deflector kit. This kit contains 3 covers with clips & foam weatherstrips to seal off the cowl from the outside elements. The foam weatherstrip seals the cowl to the hood. No snow, ice, leaves or twigs can get into the ducts now.
Can you take picture of this deflector kit you have had installed, curious to compare to what my dealer installed.

I do remember before taking my car to the dealer it definitely had the foam strip portion. But for some reason I thought my car didn't have the screen portion. I think my car was one of the earlier builds 7/13, so who knows maybe they started to add these screens in a few months later. The pictures I took after picking up my car from the dealer and posting in an earlier post also look like the pictures that Luvfiesta ST posted as well.

Took a pic of mine. Could you tell me if mine has that strip you talk about cause ai have no clue what you are talking about.

You have the small strips or grill portion below the foam for the three air intakes. I have seen some pictures online of Fiesta St's where they didn't have the foam portion on the air intakes. Perhaps the first 3-4 months of production was missing the foam and strips or grill portion.

So last month I had the TSB 13-11-17 done to my car to stop snow from coming in. Well today after starting my car and it had a few cm's of snow I got snow blowing in through the vents for about 30 seconds or so. Made an appointment at the dealer to get them to look at the car again. My dealer installed some other parts other than the CE8Z-54020C16-A part quoted by btcca4. Will wait and see, not too impressed.

So apparently there is a new TSB for this, 14-0021, released January 29, 2014, superseding the old TSB 13-11-17. I'm thinking they installed the parts for the TSB 13-11-17 since my car went into the dealer on January 16th, so they couldn't have installed the latest parts since I don't think they would have been out when the car went in.

I talked to my Ford dealer and apparently the new 14-0021 TSB replaces the existing pollen filter and replaces it with a new one, this is in addition to the older TSB 13-11-17. We'll see if this fixes the problem, cars going next Wednesday.
Well just got the latest TSB 14-0021 done to my car which basically the same as the TSB 13-11-17 plus a replacement pollen filter. Will have to wait and see if this hopefully fixes getting snow into the cab.
