ok so form what ive seen there is no amp .. i ended up plugging a converter right behing the radio and ran rca cables to my amp and it works fine but bass control is just horrible on this radio .. there is too much bass at low volume and not enough at high volume

That sounds like the line you tapped off of has some compression circuit or something.

If there was a schematic diagram for the speakers and crossovers I might be able to figure out a good place to try hooking in your line level converter but I don't know what is in there.

UPDATE: finally installed my radio un my ST today .. right now i had to remove the top display and the bracket that holds it because the metra kit will not fit with the bracket that holds the screen .. i'm now looking for a bracket that will fit and a new screen cover also because the stock one matches with the radio differently for the sony unit vs stock radio .. will post some pics!
