Wondering how often other Fiesta ST owners are changing their oil. I'm pro tuned to 93 octane and more boost = more pedal for me. That being said, I changed my oil at 1000 miles after break in, then 4000 miles, and now at approaching 11,000 I feel guilty that I havn't done my oil change at the 3000 mile mark, and that persistent Oil Life light on my dash is definitely not helping.

Ford's 10,000 interval between oil changes seems crazy long to wait to change oil on a car this fun to drive fast. Others thoughts on the OEM recommendation between oil changes?

What's going on with your oil life monitor? You wouldn't be the first to have issues with it from what I've read. I see from your profile pic that you autocross, so I feel a bit better about not changing at 9700 now haha. What oil/filter do you use? Do you reset the Oil Life monitor on your oil changes?

Thats not necessarily a bad thing, since its probably better to change oil every 10,000 miles in a turbo performance car right? For free? Nice! When I'm not into doing it myself, I have a kind friend at a good local shop that does it for me :)

I changed mine at 1300 miles and used the Motorcraft blend for break-in. Again at 4500 with full Syn. Can't find the Motorcraft full syn so I will be using the Kendall GT, same oil $4.27 Qt. to my door. Like $21.35 per 5 quarts. Switched to Ford 400s filter.

I think with the 2.24 Hp per C.I. stress on my engine (MP-215) and my desire to keep it for a long time I will do 5000 mile oil changes. I don't think most people understand that a 350 C.I. engine would put out 784 Hp if tuned to the stage our engines are. That is potent, the Dodge Hellcat is only 1.91 Hp per C.I...........So I will drive it like a fool when I can and pamper her with good maintenance all the time.

Every 5000 miles with factory oil which is motorcraft synthetic blend. Works great for my needs. I just passed 15,000 miles and recently have gone through my third and last free oil change. Unless I'm hitting a race track I'll continue using factory oil since my FiST is my daily, and cruising on the highway at a constant speed with the engine going through minimal wear and tear under such conditions it doesn't justify it for me to spend so much $$$ on synthetic oil if only thing I'm doing is commuting.

I think you will find high quality Synthetic oil for under $20 per 5 QT jug. Buy your oil and filter at wally world and they will change it for $10! So $35 for a full Syn and filter.....pretty cheap. But all in all I am sure the Motorcraft blend is a fine oil.

I did run a Blackstone lab report at about 13000-ish miles, and they recommended 7000 change interval, and I do it every 5000 so my engine and oil are in a pretty good shape. Of course once I go to a racetrack synthetic oil has to go in, no exceptions.

I do it every 5k because that's easy to remember. 3k is too little for oils now. I probably could do more than that, but an oil change doesn't really cost that much. I do Mobil 1 full synthetic. Just rolled over 14k today so I've got my third oil change coming up within the next month or so.

Purchased the car with 2100 miles on it. Changed it at 5,000 and will change it every 5k with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and the Motorcraft filter.

Walmart carries the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum for $28 online!

First change was at 1200 miles, every 5K since.

The 911 is a totally different story- I'll only go 3K tops, so the zinc doesn't get too depleted.

canadian dealer told me that my 2014 fist does not have a oil reset i am using co-op full synthetic 5-20
For the oil light? It comes on at a random 10,200 ish miles. Way too long between oil changes to me. I've reset the light twice now though. I don't remember the procedure, but it's easy enough to find somewhere on the forum I believe.

Changed at 137, 588, will again at 2,000. I'll switch to full synth at 5000, and keep it at 5000. I think turbos appreciate clean oil. I plan to keep this car 'til I die (or total it, whichever comes first!).
