The two front speaker are component 6.5" speakers (the woofer and tweeter are separate) and the back are 6.5" coaxials which means the tweeter are together. Ford probably wasn't clear on that. My sound guy said that their quality is quite good for factory speakers.

So how is that any different than the 6 Speakers that my Fiesta SES had? They were in the exact same places but it was only a 6 speaker system.
Better quality speaker on the ST versus the SES. More powerful head unit too

Right but the speaker placement in the SES and the ST is exactly the same but the SES is a 6 speaker system well the ST claims to be an 8 speaker system.
It's a misprint. Just the components in the front (which count for 4) and the coaxials in the back for a total of 6.
A speaker has a woofer and a tweeter. Even if they are component, I consider that one speaker. The coaxials are woofer and tweeter in the same mount, that is one speaker. So, I say the car has 4 speakers. Using the ford logic, my home theater would have 23 speakers instead of 8.

Not bad for a car like this plus I'm always testing them by blasting some motley crue

It's all for marketing purposes anyway because more is always better. :p
