Hey guys, I found an awesome little USB adapter that only has the power wires in it and none of the data wires. It's the Mediabridge USB Charging Adapter (this is a link.) This means when you plug your phone into the USB ports in the arm rest the car doesn't get mad when it can't properly interface with it. Not only that but it will charge faster than if it didn't have the adapter.

Using the same USB cable for all tests I got these readings: (higher numbers = faster charge)
Laptop USB 2.0 Port w/o adapter: 460mA
Laptop USB 2.0 Port w/ adapter: 500mA
Car USB Port w/o adapter: 460mA
Car USB Port w/ adapter: 600mA
2A Wall Power Supply: 1800mA (for reference with or without adapter doesn't matter because there are no data pins in the PS already.)

So yeah, if the fastest possible charge isn't super important to you, then this is awesome since it frees up the 12v socket for something else.

Anyway, here are some pictures:

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. While MFT can read the data on it, I have many many many gigs of stuff so it would probably take a full night to index it, otherwise I get a device not recognized please disconnect type error. Makes me sad since I was hoping for some kind of integration so I could play my music through the car via USB like I do with my pocket amp.

Galaxy S5 doesnt work too well either. My music is on a thumb drive and I just use the other USB port for phone charging. The radio will always try to play the sound files on my phone (ring tones and all) when I plug it in.
