I seem to recall seeing a representative from Ford posting on this site. I believe she (?) was willing to answer questions from owners. Is she still on the board and if so, does anyone jave her contact information? I had a question about the optional Rado Grey wheels. Thank you!

Meagan -- I have a 2014 Fiesta ST with the optional Rado Grey rims. I have been trying to locate the paint code for the paint or finish on these rims (the Ford paint code or the equivalent PPG paint code). My dealer tried to track down this information with no luck but I'm hoping you might have better luck. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. If for some reason Ford does not want to release this information, I also went to an automotive paint store near me and we looked at some color swatches from the Ford wheel handbook and one Ford color "Argent" (2014 Ford Wheel XPQC, PPG Paint Code 301444) seemed like a close match. Can someone at Ford give me a rough equivalent or match for the Rado Grey rims? I am interested in mixing some touch up paint for my rims and getting some aftermarket rims I have ordered painted the same color.

Different person here but is there a way I can get a silver wheel for less than the $500 the dealer is quoting? Is Tire Rack going to carry it any time soon? Thanks from Kevin.

I haven't checked for the FiST, but Carid carries oem replacements or reconditioned oems for a bit cheaper.

Great question, OrangeFist.

I recommend checking with TIre Rack and your dealer; I don't have any knowledge regarding parts at retail stores, and all dealers are independently owned and operated and thus can set their own pricing.

Thanks for reaching out! I'm checking with some resources as I don't have direct access to that information, and I'll let you know what I find out. Hang tight!

I've never seen Ford publish paint codes for wheels, they just don't.

Steve -- Thanks for the feedback; that's what it's looking like after approaching my local Ford/Ford Racing/Roush dealer as well as a local automotive paint shop. I'm just wondering how Ford dealers or independent body shops would repair the Rado Grey rims in case of damage. Surely Ford must have some idea of what paint code is used to give this to repair shops or to have third-party suppliers supply paint for the assembly line. It's a bit strange given that all of the other brands I've owned (BMW, Dodge, MINI, Toyota, Honda, etc.) have this information readlily available and will even sell you touch up paint and clear laquer bottles at the dealership. Worst-case scenario I can bring the FiST to my local wheel shop and have them eye ball it but I really like the grey finish on the Rados and would like as close a match as possible.

Best bet would be a wheel repair guy or having a body shop match the wheel paint. I've been in Ford dealerships for 25 years and have never, ever seen touch up paint or paint codes for wheels.

Thanks Steve. Very strange but if Meagan is unsuccessful then that's what i'll have to do. Other posts have stated that Volvo Anthracite 932 is a fairly close match so I may try my local Volvo dealer.

If you can find out this would be a life saver.

I tracked down a wheel repair guy in my area that has a good reputation and he told me they're almost impossible to match by eye. I really don't want to replace a rim over a paint chip.
I wasn't able to find the rim color codes, only body color part numbers (see below). Did you speak to the parts manager about it? They'd be the ones who have the parts numbers which should lead to color codes. I also recommend talking with your service manager about having this repaired. Once you do, I can loop in your customer service manager on this to look into any additional assistance.

For anyone wondering, here's the link to the body color part numbers: 2004-2014 Paint Chart
If that direct link doesn't work, you can find it linked here: Ford Parts Motorcraft Touch-up Paint.

Like I said, 20+ years in Ford parts and I have never once seen or found any reference to paint codes for wheels.

A wheel repair shop or a body shop with color matching ability would be the most likely sources for this although I just stumbled across this doing a Google search, appears someone in the UK did exactly what I'm suggesting and had a body shop mix it for them for resale.

Just an update: Went to my local Volvo dealer and picked up a can of Volvo Anthracite 932 spray paint for wheels. This is evidently a fairly close match to the Rado Grey but I have not had a chance to try this. The paint in Volvo part no. 9437332 and went for about $20.
