K & N filter?

I think that's the one I put in but I don't have the number handy.

When you install it, you need torx wrenches I think. It surprised me, I thought it would be a couple spring clips holding it together.

Be careful to make sure the lid goes down flat, mine didn't want to go down at the rear passenger side so I had to remove all the screws to start that one and get it to close.

Make sure you don't drop a screw, there are lots of little nooks and crannies that they could fall in to.

Also be careful you don't move the lid too far because there are wires holding it down.

The degree of difficulty is high for an air filter but with the right tool and a little patience it is doable if you're even a tiny bit handy.

You're right. For a simple air filter, they have it attached as if it was engineered for flight use. Not one of Ford's better ideas.

I am sure they figured that you were supposed to bring it to a dealer for service.
For the average driver you should only need to get at it once a year.

I don't hate everything, but I can understand how it must look that way.

My problem is that my 49 years spent as an inspector in various industries has trained me to analyze, to look for, and see the defects in everything, even when I'm not aware of it. It can be a curse. :shy:

That said, it's baffling why Ford changed the air filter housing to make it more difficult to remove...

Have you looked into changing the "cabin" air filter? anda::hungover:

Excellent point. Anyone who has changed the cabin filter in a Toyota Yaris will be dumbfounded by the Fiesta's complexity. I have changed the Yaris cabin filter in less than a minute. And that includes unlocking the door and climbing in...

Well, I've done it once and there is a nice DIY post on Fiesta Faction from some years back. It took me 30+ minutes and I suggest going to a few yoga classes before attempting this work. As I have to also replace the fan resistor located nearby, I will be changing out my cabin filter again this Spring.

Yes. the Fiesta ST uses the same air filter as a non-ST Fiesta. Ford part number FA-1914 in the 2014 Fiesta owner's manual and on www.fordparts.com

You can search for it again, and it'll lead you back to the same product, and you'll again see a message box that says it does not fit. I have no idea why, but it does.

Amazon does the same thing with the Sylvania ZXE headlights. Apparently, nothing fits the ST.

I'm hoping this is all due to the newness of the car; most everyone takes time to get proper entries into databases and then those entries linked to the right things, etc. But it is certainly frustrating when a company purports to be helping with this sort of thing and produces confusing, self-contradictory results and information. Makes me wonder if Jeff Bezos was not talking about using drones for deliveries from Amazon, but was instead talking about using druids to do so.

Picking up my k&n filter tomorrow. It's the same as the fiesta 2013.. #33-2955.

Yes because I used one already for like 1,500 miles. lol

Installing a K&N filter took less than 5 mins.. Good to go
