And so it begins.

Ordered - Aug. 23rd
VIN received - Sept. 27th
Built - Oct. 21st
DELIVERED - Nov. 22nd

So my wait has finally come to an end, I picked up my '14 Green Envy ST with the Recaro Package last night! :troll:
Now, I admit that I was wrong for thinking that Green Envy was the best color.. because IT STILL IS. haha

I really appreciated the help I got in receiving info about the order status along the way, and I tracked it on it's rail journey using the ETTX info shared by other members n here... I tracked it until it arrived locally, and when I didn't receive a phone call on the ETA day (Nov. 21st) I messaged Meagan for an update on the 22nd... At which point I was told that the ETA was "Today!"

I called the dealer, and they hadn't seen/heard anything yet, and hadn't taken delivery at that point... But I got a phone call a few hours later followed by a few photo's and the news that my car had just been unloaded off a truck!

Obviously I was like, "So can I come get it now?!" haha, but my sales guy wanted me to wait until Monday!! Luckily for me I have pretty valid excuses for genuinely not having time at all next week.... :troll:

Long story short, I drove home with my car about 2 hours later.

Hi Mayhem,

Congrats; that's one bright car! :)
I'm glad you're diggin' the SYNC system so far. The layout of the MyFord Touch system in the Fiesta is unique compared to other vehicles, so let me know if you ever have questions about it. That's what I'm here for!

Kim
Appreciate it, I'll remember to harass you if I get stumped. Not much time to play with it just yet, heavy work load.. Hopefully next weekend I'll whip through the manual and play with the functions a bit more.
I do like the matching fuzzy dice.

We can't have those things here as the cops consider them a distraction and tend to shift the blame if there is an unfortunate incident.

Lol... That's a weird one... I can't say that I've ever found them distracting... I don't even notice they are there when I'm driving.

They were purchased for my first car.. Was going for a black & green theme...I was originally planning on having my 2010 Camaro SS custom painted green.. (Before they announced the green paint the following year).. But when they announced the paint, I bailed on that idea... And then I got out of the Camaro soon after... I even custom green metallic painted an RC Camaro to match my planned design for my actual car.. lol

Oddly enough, the dice do seem to get a lot of positive comments from females. A couple bucks well spent.

I just put em there for the sentimental value. A nod to my previous vehicles. I am pleased that I finally get to do my green theme though.

...Mostly, Meagan and my other contacts who work @ ford, kept me sane throughout the delivery process. (Thanks for all the help/info !!)
Huzzah! I'm so glad I got to help track your beautiful ST for you. I know you're going to be having a lot of fun, have you named your new bundle of joy yet?

... I am pretty sure my MPG readout has to be WRONG because.... I am literally getting the same MPG I was getting in my Raptor.... 21 L/100km = 11 MPG.... :poop::poop:...
As far as your mpg, your Owner Manual (ST supplement) states on page 15:

"BREAKING-IN
Your vehicle does not need an extensive break–in. Try not to drive continuously at the same speed for the first 1000 miles (1600 kilometers) of new vehicle operation. Vary your speed frequently in order to give the moving parts a chance to break in.
Do not add friction modifier compounds or special break–in oils since these additives may prevent piston ring seating"

And from the Fiesta Owner Manual (3rd printing, page 122) states:

"Calculating Fuel Economy
Do not measure fuel economy during the first 1000 miles (1600 kilometers) of driving (this is your engine’s break-in period); a more accurate measurement is obtained after 2000 miles - 3000 miles (3200 kilometers - 4800 kilometers). Also, fuel expense, frequency of fill ups or fuel gauge readings are not accurate ways to measure fuel economy."

It's been fantastic working with you, and from here out I pass you along to Bianca, our Ford Canada rep, for any questions or concerns in the future.

I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully you'll get to mess around with MyFord Touch soon. There's a lot to take in!

Wow, Green Envy does look great.

But not as good as my Performance Blue :p

In all seriousness congratulations and I hope your first week with the car goes better than mine did :D.
Welcome to the cult of the Green Envy! Glad to see you finally got your car.

I as well am VERY impressed with the SYNC setup. Everyone at Ford should really pat themselves on the back for creating such a complete package at a pretty reasonable price.

It definitely makes up for that 79 Pinto I bought so many years ago... :wtf:

I'm glad to hear you like it, tubbyaz. Let me know if you ever have questions about it.

Kim
I highly recommend the WeatherTech floor mats. I had a set from my 2011 SES and I didn't think they would fit because they were specifically designed for the '11-'13 Automatics. I figured I would check them anyway and, sure enough, they fit perfectly.
That means I'll have to get some now
Well, took forever... But the tire's finally arrived.

After a bit of a gong show with the order, finally arrived , so the snow control series 3 Pirelli's, steelies, and TPMS are ready to go.... Unfortunately, it started snowing today... so the roads are crap... Can't get to the dealership in the summers to have em all swapped...

So, waiting for roads to clear up a little before I head in.

Anyway, sittin tight in the garage.. (They're actually all loaded into the FiST now).

All 4 tires, all 4 wheel boxes fit into the back of the FiST with the seats down. Not bad.

Update time!

Took a few photo's with the tint and steelies! I love the steelies vs the stock.. Really not a fan of the stock wheels... I'll be happy with the steelies until I get the aftermarket set I've had my eyes on for a while.

16" steelies, wrapped in Pirelli winter 210 snowcontrol series 3 rubber.

Thoughts so far in regards to the winter setup: I love the look of 16's... just as I expected... I really prefer 16's to 17's.
What surprised me though, is that I think I actually prefer the feel of driving with the 17's (I'll chime in again later after some mileage).
The ride is slightly softer, and as long as I'm driving straight, it's quite nice.. I notice a hum from the tires.. Nothing bothersome. However, the surprise shift in my opinion came when I started hitting turns... I am not crazy about the change in handling feel. I think I may actually stick with 17's for summer....May just get my aftermarket wheels in 17 and use the stock rubber. We'll see if my opinion changes again after some more time on the road. As far as grip goes though, the tires are fantastic so far. Not much snow left on the roads at this point though.

As for the tint. I am completely happy with the quality of the work done.
I did 70% up front, 15% in the back, and 15% brow..

My only concern, which I hadn't noticed until I got home... Is that for whatever reason they didn't do the brow down to the AS-1 line.. Instead it looks like they just put on a pre-cut brow which is pretty thin.. It's still an improvement for me personally... I like the brow's as far as both looks and functionality.. (I bought more for functionality) and am glad I did... But I may go back and have it re-done down to the AS-1 line... It looks fine, but I'd like to block out as much glare as I can. I am not that tall and like to sit down low, so I still get a little glare creeping in.

Very happy with the tint %'s though. I am not sure I can really tell the difference between 15% and 20%... I would like something like a 10% ??
Lighting angles really change how the tint looks... At night it's really dark from the outside, and I like it. Daytime it's very different between a sunny day and a cloudy day.. Quite dark in cloudy conditions.. And not quite as dark if too much sunlight comes in the front. Or if the interior lights are on..

Overall, both the tint and wheels are definitely a step up in the looks department in my opinion. I'm happy with the decision.

Attached a couple comparison photo's from both outside & inside, of both the 15 and 70%. The view from inside is completely un-hindered.. I can see out crystal clear, and I think the photo's show this quite well. Thought the comparison might help some people on the fence.

After messing around and taking photo's of my own tint, I'm starting to think the variation in peoples tint photo's is probably largely due to different lighting conditions/angles outside. Something to take into consideration when comparing tint photo's...

Anyhow, that's my updates so far, I know my "mods" are pretty modest/minimal for now but I'll continue posting new additions.

Merry Christmas / Happy holiday's to all of you.

Well, no picture update atm,

but just chiming in with the most recent MPG.

Last tank, I managed 24 MPG ( 9.8L/100km ) 60% city 40% hwy. on 91 octane.
I'd say I was driving it harder than previous tanks too, so nothing to do with babying it. Every tank has been the "best tank yet" consistently.

Still in the break in period at 970ish miles (1550ish km).. so I expect to see further improvements.

I'm not at the 30 mpg some are getting but with the consistent gains so I'm optimistic.
Website lists, 30 mpg to 43 mpg? (Canadian site spec's). I have nooooo idea how they figure 43 MPG is possible... but I can definitely see 30 mpg as a possibility and I'd be content with that.

Either way, if I can drive it harder and improve my mpg at the same time.. that's a win for me.

This car's so much damn fun.

Eating into my sleep though... Always up reading up on all the things I want to buy for the car :headbang:

I love this car though.

Not going to lie, I find myself going to the garage just to look at it, or using my lunch break to walk out to the parking lot and sit in it for a few. Is it bad that I am checking out my own car so often? lol. It's weird.. I didn't see myself bein this smitten over a hot hatch. But I've definitely got the bug. A great way to start my mornings... driving a FiST.

And running errands is always a good thing now. Any excuse to get behind the wheel.

I too found that the more Km's I put on my car, the better the mileage. It's now sitting at 7.8/L per 100/km ( which is better than my wife's Focus lol.) Any "mods" planned for your car ?

Ah I'll be a happy camper if I get to that 7.8 range.

Mods.. No concrete plans, just a long list of things I want. And am as of yet undecided on.

I know which wheels I want.. I've known since before I had my car... But I won't share that until they're on the car and I can post a photo !

Only things I know 100% other than that, are that I want my weather tech digital mats & rainguards, rally armor or rok whatever mud flaps.. lol.. more accessories than "mods".
I got a few aesthetic mods I'm contemplating... but on the fence for various reasons.
a couple exhausts I'm lookin at, but waiting to hear back from another company about when/if they are in fact releasing an exhaust for the FiST.

I want the cobb tuner... I'm just undecided about whether I want to jump into that because of potential warranty concerns.

Would like coilovers, but that'll be even further down the road.

For the time being, basically no immediate mods.. Just a big grocery list of "maybe later" mods.

As you may have noticed I'm pretty indecisive. And not really in a rush. lol

I'll definitely post up if I end up picking any goodies up.

I here ya on this one. The other option to consider is the Mountune Mtune , which is supposed to arrive in North America some time in the 1st quarter of the year. Just waiting for details to see if Fords factory warranty will remain intact, if installed by a Ford Racing dealer. Brown Brothers Ford in Van is such a dealer.

Yeah, I've been reading up on both the Cobb & Mountune options.
As well as reading up on reviews from the FoST folks who have dealt with either.

The only two downsides I can see to the mountune, are #1 the cost. And #2, the lack of ability to adjust tunes. (Blame Ford.)
For cobb, downside would be lack of warranty. (Depending on your dealership.?) But, I've read a lot of positive feedback to support cobb products among other car crowds.

I think as far as quality and a good product, either route is a great option. I'm not worried about that.
I am hungry for the gains though that's for sure.

The price gap seems pretty nutty.

Tough call. I am pretty curious about the talk of a larger turbo in the works.

I don't like Brown Bro's based on personal experiences being really awful. I'll avoid giving them another cent if I can help it. But we'll see what my options are. TBH I think we get short changed out here, as far as the local dealership selection. Really comes down to choosing the lesser evil.

Anyhow, I am pretty positive I'll end up getting a tune. But holding off for a while before I go on a shopping spree.
