Morrie's Ford in Minnetonka MN got their first FiST. In fact, I think it's the first one to hit the Twin Cities in general.

Molten Orange/Orange Interior
Moonroof
Recaro Package
Navigation
Cargo Management
Upgraded wheels
...basically fully loaded.

My first impressions:

General
This car is quick! I've owned some sporty cars in the past (2 SVT Focus, 5.0 Mustang and Subaru STi). The handling is tight. The steering is precise (more so than my 2012 FiSE). It looks and sounds great.

Recaro
I had asked the community if the Recaro package was worth. While the seats look nice, it's not worth $2000. I could spend that on COBB or Mountune parts. Plus, being a big/tall guy, it was not a great fit. I felt like I was sitting on top of the butt bolsters, instead of in them.

Other Options
The moonroof lowers the ceiling liner a little bit so I was close to bumping it with my head. Navigation is nice, but I have a smart phone. Also, I'm not sure what's so good about the painted wheels. If I dropped these features as well, that's MORE money I could spend on performance.

Don't let my opinion of the features sway your opinion. I'm only one perspective. Personally, I'm going to try find a base ST, with no options, or I might have to order one.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I recorded my test drive with Google Glass. The video is uploading to YouTube as we speak. I'll post it later.

There's something to be said for the lowest spec version of a performance car. Light is Right!

Can't wait to see the Glass video!

The one I test drove sounds like it was equipped exactly the same.

I fit in the Recaros perfectly so to me they are worth the extra cost, I'd like the grey ones rather than orange though. I like the idea of a moonroof, but it does lower the headliner and it will likely break or start leaking before too long so I'd pass on it as well. I'd much rather have the in dash nav considering it already comes equipped with the large screen. It makes sense to include nav into the screen than have an external device to me. I don't care for the painted wheels/calipers either. Silver wheels look fine and I don't need my calipers to stand out.
Here's the video. Don't mind me babbling on. I wish it was more exciting :p I'll be recording video at the Ecoboost Challenge in about a week and a half.
IF you don't mind a couple hour drive the dealer near me is getting this Blue one soon ... BTW thanks for taking the time to review and post your thoughts and vid...
Thanks for the tip! I'd likely have my dealer try to transfer it here. There are two base STs coming into local dealers. Both are red :/ I own a Race Red SE now. Was hoping to get something different.
No Problem I have not seen the car on the lot yet so you may be able just to have it shipped. not sure if they unload them off the train in St Paul or if these go to a different intermodal site.. That car is the exact car I first ordered then added the Recaro's and painted wheel for better seating during track events and less brake dust showing on the dark wheels though I will be getting lighter track wheels so perhaps the wheels were just a vanity thing for me so I have the red brakes without my having to do the work LOL .. To each their own when it come to optioning a car that what makes it fun ...
