My first thought was to meet at a different location but that will not work well.

The old stand by for this run is:

Denney's at the Sand Canyon exit on CA14.

We should leave there no later than about 5:30 AM.
This should allow us to arrive and do prep things to our cars.

It is a good suggestion to have breakfast.
So you arrive early enough to accomplish this.

This is just my recommendation.
Other ideas are more than welcome.

From that Denny's it takes about 1.25 hours (unless we go above the speed limit).
We also need to get into the track.
We need to find a space to park and unload our cars (lot of stuff).
Arrival time is requested at 7:00 AM so 5:30 AM is about right.

While I'd prefer to go up later tonight, I'm worried about basic security of my car and gear. I suppose it's mostly other drivers, but it really isn't a great area.

So...

We'll meet you at Denny's! Plan is to be there at 04:30. Guessing I should leave Long Beach by 03:30!

Yes I know it is an early run.

I have left my car at the track before but that was only when I rented a garage.
Also it was a two day event and other members of our group stayed in motorhomes at the track.

Getting up there early will allow us to get our PIT setup and cars ready before the driver's meeting.

After much deliberating, it seems we're going to go up directly, but still in the morning -- just skipping a real breakfast!

So, enjoy your breakfast at Denny's! I'll see you and LateApex at the track around 06:45.

Why don't you just meet us at Denny's at 5:30 AM (skip breakfast).
We can leave then and get to the track at the same time (6:45 AM).
