Hi all,

Just picked our 2014 back up from the dealer last night after having the clutch and flywheel replaced. Noticed right away that the clutch pedal was lighter but thought it might just be my imagination as I hadn't driven it in a few weeks while out was at the dealer.

Today my wife who is the primary driver tells me the the clutch is so much lighter than before. Obviously therr must have been something wrong with the original one right from the factory, was her take on it.

So my question to you all is, is this normal? I've never had to replace a clutch before (usually changed cars before they went)so I have no idea if this is an issue or not. Either the pedal feel was normal before when it was heavier, and it's too light now.....or it was off before and this is correct now. Or its light now and just needs some break in?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Little back info, clutch was slipping at almost 24,000knm Ford replaced, covered under warranty.

Might be a different clutch than what came with it at the factory. The pedal feel is the weight of the pressure plate. I had the clutch replaced on my ZX2 before I sold it and the shop put in a clutch that had a lighter pressure plate than what I had in it previously so it was a lot easier to push and hold the pedal. As long as the clutch works fine I wouldn't worry about it.

Drove my cousin's brand new Fiesta ST(Euro spec) in August 2015 and his clutch felt way lighter than my 2013 ever did. Suspension is also much more compliant over crappy roads without any negative effects to the handling. This is quite noticeable as I need to slow down much more over the same roads to avoid those harsh crashy knocks from the suspension.
