Just saw the new Kosei K5R and K8R on tire rack in our OEM wheel size. Ship date is 3/15/15. Weight is still unkown at this point.

K8R doesn't look bad at all... and fairly priced. I still wished they offered the K1 though

I am really digging those K8Rs. I have owned several sets of K1 in the past, and let me tell you, those things are indestructible.

The Kosei Facebook page lists the following weights for K8R
K8R 17 inch
17 x 7.0J - 6.77kg (14.93lb)
17 x 8.0J - 7.00kg (15.43lb)
17 x 9.0J - 7.46kg (16.45lb)

Thats a savings of just under 8 lbs per wheel vs. OEM. Sign me up!!!!

date has been pushed to 25 Apr.

I'm not sure if I could wait that long. I am waiting on these rims so that I can buy new summer tires. Only have something like ... I dont know, 2/32" or so left on the bridgestones. Good think I cant use them right now.

For those that were wondering and didnt notice, the K5R wheels became available mid last week. They just shipped for me (tires were at a diff facility). Ill post pics after they get in and on my car.

Also, tirerack says that there are no center caps, but after talking to a Kosei rep on facebook, they do have some available. Tirerack is looking into it right now.

I like that explanation better! Hopefully Kosei will make it clear on their website.

The light gray painted is a little bit darker than the pictures on the site seem. I prefer it darker so it works for me.

Still haven't heard anything about the center caps. I contacted Kosei to update them, so we'll see if anything happens.

Update from Kosei:

"Hello Jasper, so sorry for the trouble and thank you so much for the updates. Our colleague in USA already received an email from Tirerack about this. Unfortunately, our colleague who is in charge of the K5R & K8R cap is now on leave in the Philippines, please bear with us til Wednesday. Tirerack will probably place the order on Wednesday, and we will ship those caps once they are ready.
