How's it goin. I just bought my tri coat white fiesta st and it's such an awesome car!!!

My question is if someone can tell me the regularly scheduled maintenance for this car as the dealer didn't have anything to give me for a more accurate look on how much everything will be for the next 4-5 years. I usually do my oil changes every 5k with Mobil1.

I want to know because they sold me the maintenance plan for $1680 which covers me for 4 years or 60k. I have 30 days to cancel it for a refund and I want to know if I will atleast break even.

I also have an s2000 and I have always done my own maintenance on all my cars. The main reason I bought the maintenance plan was because it covers the clutch, shocks and brakes. Do these things go out commonly on these cars?

The maintenance schedule is in the owner's manual and varies a bit due to location and type of driving. In 4 years it's mostly going to be oil/filter changes and tire rotations. Considering how easy it is in this car to change the oil and filter, I'd recommend getting your money back from that prepaid plan and do it yourself for a fraction of the cost.

I wouldn't have gotten it for the simple fact that I don't want any dealership monkeys working on my car. Assuming you change your oil every 5k miles like I plan to the cost on that is roughly $400 for oil and filters for 60k miles. Recommended intervals are a bit less even if you follow those. If you have a jack and jack stands, tire rotations just cost you a bit of your time. Unless you are doing auto cross or otherwise tracking the car, then the brakes should last awhile. Even if you have to change them more than once in that time that's gonna have to cost a lot to be worth the money. I know labor goes into that cost as well, so how much is your own time worth to you? Can you spare some of your own time to do it yourself or would you rather drop off the car and have someone else do it for you? If you drive the clutch correctly I don't see why it shouldn't last. As for the belt I haven't done any research on that and am not sure how difficult it would be to do. I did the timing belt on my old car and it wasn't too difficult. That belt still looked good after over 110K miles/9 years, but I did it anyway as a preventative measure. Even if you do the rest of the stuff yourself and have someone else do the timing belt if it's difficult you'd probably come out more on top that way
