I bought my car with a sunroof (which I love) and discovered that with the sunroof open at certain speeds there is a thrumming noise and pulsation that is bad enough to be painful for your eardrums...lowering both back windows slightly completely eliminates this...
Have had the car for a week now and it has been an absolute blast on windy back roads and I'm surrounded by them where I live so life has been good ;-)

That sounds like normal buffeting. That can happen even without a sunroof if you have just one window down.

I've experienced buffeting on other cars but this one is the worst by far...but a moot point since there is an easy fix, just figured I'd mention it as I thought opting for a sunroof was a big mistake at first....but now that I've figured that out overall love the car. Another issue is major glare from the dash to the windshield on a sunny day (to the point of being dangerous) but polarized sunglasses fix that, just need to get a second pair that stay in the car in case I forget. Took a long drive on Skaggs Springs RD today which is world famous in the motorcycle world and the car was absolutely brilliant, definitely in its element...

It really is, not to be missed if you are ever in Northern Calif. So do you ride a Ducati Monster? I had one myself until a year ago (a 2003 M800), still have a couple of other bikes.

I typically have the rear windows down about 2" and the sunroof open. Doing that removes any buffeting, plus allows for the hot interior air to be evacuated above and behind the driver.

Yep, I finally learned to do that too but it took me a couple of days , the buffeting was pretty extreme until then...but with things as you described the ventilation is excellent and noise is low, drove that way all day yesterday and am VERY glad I sprung for the sunroof.
