Found this cute little guy in the bottom of the pan along with a big pile of chewed up aluminum.

Yeah, it's a section of connecting rod about an inch long that was laying in the pan. I'll tear into the old engine further once the new one is in and running. Should be all sorts of neat mangles bits to photograph.

Progress, slow but sure. Parts holding me up should be here tomorrow.

Wow! Cool though that you are already throwing in another engine!
Have to, the boy has a job and needs a way to get there. Should be up and running this weekend.

And it's up and running, dropped in the 111k mile junkyard Zetec over the weekend and it runs like a top, turbo is making a solid 9psi and no more.

Put the boy to work too, he's turning in to a pretty good wrench,

Workbench was a disaster when we got done,

Here's what's left of the two rods, still need to get the correct Torx sockets to pull the head so I can get the pistons out but it's not a real high priority at this point.

Any ideas what wheel are on your Son's car in the first post Steve? I have those EXACT wheels sitting my garage now (center caps included) and I was always curious what make/ brand they were..... That's the only other picture I've ever seen of another car with these wheels.

Last owner bought them because they were cheap. Generic off brand, all four of the ones I had were pretty badly bent. Put them on the curb with a free sign on them.

I did kind of like the look though.
