Alright I give up I can not reset the oil life monitor. Strange health report says 0 remaining but I get no warning to change oil. Anyone have success getting it to reset?

Hold brake and gas to the floor for 30 seconds. This will reset the IIntelligent Oil Life Monitor (IOLM).

Be sure to change the oil though, the IOLM will put an indicator on your dash (wrench?) when its 0. I dont trust it though, 5000 mile OCI after this one, complimented by UOA.

Thanks Jeff, No indicator light but I finally got reset had to be out of gear. Will need to follow up with dealer on the lack of dash notification though
Holding pedals in auxillary or with running engine?

With the engine off.
Just re-read my comment and realize that holding the gas pedal down while the engine running wouldn't likely be a good option. For some reason I was thinking clutch and brake. Do you get any indication that it is reset if you didn't previously run it down to 0? I just did my first change at 1500 so there was no indication light on.
I didn't get any indication when I reset mine.
Just had the same issue. I believe that the cel or a wrench appears. I really couldn't tell if I was successful or not
What's the fix for this? I just got my oil changed a month ago and it says my oil life is at 18%
I guess you all will have to add me to the list of dummies who can't make sense of the oil life monitor. The obstinate system just won't respond the way the manual says it should. I must have re-read that paragraph six times trying to see where I might have mis-understood what it was explaining, but I came up with the same non-response from the system. I've done this about seven times on my 2011, but this one no worky. In addition, I can no longer run a vehicle report even though I ran one back in October. The system says I have to have over 200 miles on the car, despite having turned 10,000 miles. And yes, SYNC services is set up.

Hi-tech is nice when it works right, but it sure is exasperating when it acts up. Sometimes I want to do as Harvey Keitel did in the 1992 movie "Bad Lieutenant", where, in a drug addled rage, he furiously pumped six rounds into the radio with his service revolver after hearing that he had lost a big bet on a baseball game.

It might not reset if you have anything plugged into the OBDII port. This was the same problem I had trying to run a VHR right after I bought it and had installed my dual Scanguages. We determined that unplugging the Scanguages, driving it for a bit, in my case, driving home from the dealership (~15 miles) was enough to let me run the report.

Maybe if you just hold the revolver up, pointed right at the SYNC screen as you go through the process, it'll cooperate?

You might have hit on it, as I do have an Ultragauge plugged into the OBD port. I'll try it again later.

I still like the Dirty Harry approach better.

Well I just tried the "no OBD" suggestion and now I CAN run a vehicle health report. But the oil life reset still won't function. Stupid system tells me to press in the clutch to start the engine.

Threats don't work. I tried my .38 and it ignores me. Maybe I do need the .44.

Remember the Ford reps that (used to?) hang out on here, with lots of assurances, tips, and so forth? Where are they now--now that we need them? I've always loathed maintenance check lights, service due lights, etc. that required reset by a mechanic or dealer. There is no good reason it should be this hard and/or unreliable and/or difficult. I have a "trip computer" that tells me seven more things than I ever wanted to know and can be reset by a dodo bird. This should be no different.

I tried it without my AccessPort plugged in and no go. I guess we need some secret password to get this thing to reset!
It's not something silly like the e-brake being on is it? I know that will generate an error on the VHR if it's on. I'd be surprised if nobody has gotten it to work. There are plenty of people with over 10,000 miles and they would have seen the warning by now.
I have over 20k no warning light only shows on VHR
