Anyone mount padding on the side of the center console and inside of the drivers door? If so what did you use and do you have any pictures.

I have found my self bracing with my leg on the console and a pit on the door...resulting in some bruising. Seems pretty easy to mount something softer to brace on, just wanted to see what others have done.

Thanks

Sparco makes some Velcro in padding for karts. I have it mounted on the center console and on top the door panel for my elbow.

Man, I need to do that to the center console. Hard cornering almost guarantees the center console is giving me some unlicensed, board-not-certified exploratory surgery.

Is it the padding they sell for the kart seat?
Yes. They have one that is a flattened hex shape. It works in the corner where the console blends into the dash. And for an elbow pad on the top of the door panel. Good for long trips too.

Just a bit of friendly advice... Those of you bracing yourself with your legs are losing time on course/track. Invest in a harness, strap yourself in so tight that you can barely breath, and you will definitely be quicker on course/track. Your feet/legs should be used to drive the car, not brace yourself against g-forces. Your brain should be focused on what the car needs to do, not what your body is doing in reaction to the car. I use the Schroth Rally 3 exclusively in my autocross cars.

I only put the pads in for driving comfort. The Recaros and a torso strap keep me secure when auto'xing.

this may sound foolish, but i can attest they work. see link below: i had them for my knees before i had knee replacements and they work GREAT for autoX. plus they are cheap and do not tacky up your interior. I still use them every month when i autox. gave one to my friend who ALWAYS HAS FTD in a 01 Toyota MR2, and he loves them, no longer does he have a bruised or sore knee from hitting door ( he removed the door panel and runs in E/M)
